Lovely weekend location
Fully-serviced hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Second visit to this lovely site, which is very friendly and welcoming and is spotlessly clean. Shower / toilet block is modern, very roomy and kept very clean. Plenty of room between pitches. Lovely location for a quiet break.
Nice pub at the end of the road, dogs allowed outside only, with nice menu.
Disliked Location is quite rural, need a car travel to nearby sites and attractions but not really anything to dislike.
WiFi available to purchase at a reasonable price and we tried several times but it wouldn’t connect

What customers say
This is a very clean, well-maintained campsite with exceptional, modern toilet and shower facilities, consistently praised by guests. Staff are frequently described as friendly and helpful. The site offers beautiful walks directly opposite, a good pub within easy walking distance, and spacious pitches. While generally peaceful, some guests noted it can be busy, and a few mentioned occasional issues with WiFi and the cost of services. Despite these minor points, most visitors highly recommend and intend to return.

Liked Excellent tidy attractive site with clean, well designed amenities.
Disliked Lack of support from the warden when we complained about a particular family group who continually played ball games near our caravan. Our caravan was hit by their balls and we were anxious all weekend for fear of costly damage to our van. Warden was particularly loud and verbally abusive to us and told us we were barred.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I’m sorry that you were unhappy with your experience, however, I would like to clarify what happened regarding the ball games.
The first and only time you contacted us to raise your concerns, I went straight up to the area and spoke to the children, and their parents asking them not to play ball games near the caravans. Following this, I regularly walked around the site throughout the day to keep an eye on the situation and to make sure the request was being respected.
Unfortunately, the ball games took place again at around 9pm that evening. We were not contacted at the time to let us know that this was happening, so we had no opportunity to intervene or resolve the situation. Had we been contacted, we would have dealt with it immediately, just as we did when you initially raised the issue.
The following morning, I was approached by the gentleman in question. I appreciate that emotions were understandably running high, but I was being pointed at in my face and spoken to in a confrontational manner and was blamed personally for the children playing ball games. I did become upset and raised my voice, and while I accept that the conversation became heated, I felt that I needed to ask him to step back and get out of my face. I regret that the conversation became as heated as it did, but I also feel it is important that the circumstances are fairly represented.
We take complaints from our guests seriously and always try to deal with issues as quickly as possible. However, we cannot address something we have not been made aware of, particularly when it happens later in the evening.
We are a family-friendly site and understand that children will want to play, but we also expect everyone to be considerate of other guests, particularly around caravans in the evening. We will always do our best to ensure that these expectations are respected.
As you can see from the many other reviews we have received, we pride ourselves on being a friendly, welcoming site, and providing our guests with a positive experience is extremely important to us. In the three years I have been here, I have never experienced a situation quite like this or had someone speak to me in such a confrontational and aggressive manner, particularly with someone pointing their finger in my face and shouting at me.
I’m sorry that you left feeling dissatisfied, but I hope this response provides a fair and accurate explanation of what happened from our side.
