Electric grass tent pitch
Liked: Great views, peaceful and calm environment. Pitching near the river is gorgeous. River is great for young children as this isn't deep.
Disliked: Administration is poor, toilets, showers were filthy and kitchen was really dirty as well, with the sinks blocked.
The people at reception didn't offer much help. We rarely saw anyone there. Lots of rubbish on the ground right at the entrance of the campsite, as bins were full. And it seemed that they were more concerned about the supposed wedding they are going to have over the weekend than actually maintaining the facilities.

From the manager: Hi Pedro.
Thanks for your review!
The toilets and showers and washing up area were cleaned twice per day. We do have signs up stating to leave the toilets in the way you wish to find them, unfortunately our staff cannot be in the toilets cleaning them 4,5,6 times per day.
We do not have a wedding this weekend?
If you had a problem you should have come to speak to us.

Liked: The brook onsite was truly brilliant for the children to play and splash around in. All the facilities were within a small
Area too, which really helped.just a short walk away is a lovely park with lots of activities for children.
Disliked: The cleanliness of the toilets, and space within. These were cleaned at 11.00am, but owing to some grotty individuals leaving crap around the toilet bowel and seat, these need checking and cleaning more regularly. On arrival, reception clearly marked but no one was initially available, so a queue was forming. The room behind reception looked chaotic and a mess, which fitted in to the overall view and opinion that it’s a bit disorganised. The waste area was overflowing with bags and rubbish which doesn’t help the initial view upon arrival. We were told that the electricity supply can only handle small amounts, which made our electric grill redundant. Had we known in advance we would opted for a different site (granted we may have missed the small print). The cave bar was open, but initially no
One to serve, and again boxes and packages left on view which again makes the site appear disorganised.

Liked: The campsite was beautiful. The river running through the site was a huge hit with the kids. The staff were all super helpful especially Sophie. We loved the bar where they held a quiz and bingo and the duck race was lots of fun.
Disliked: The shower facilities could have been better and an extra washing up station would be welcomed but we managed fine with the facilities there were.

Liked: Location, easy to get to
Cave bar was lovely and activities organised over the bank holiday weekend
Disliked: Fluctuations in the temperature of the hot water
Uneven site meant big puddles after rainfall
I felt it was overcrowded over the bank holiday weekend as parking was often difficult within the carparking area

Liked: We have been here twice before and will keep coming back simply for the beautiful riverside location. Our children spent hours catching fish and paddling in the river and for that, this site is magic.
Disliked: The toilets were not cleaned our entire stay and were filthy. The sanitary bins were overflowing. The dog waste bin was overflowing. The staff were rude and did nothing about children breaking chairs and throwing them in the river, loose dogs or loud music.

From the manager: Hi
Thanks for your review.
The toilets were cleaned on Saturday evening and also Sunday as I did them myself. Other comments say the toilets were clean and they stayed the same period as you did?
We admit the dog waste bins were full and these were emptied on Sunday.
Can you contact us in regards to which staff member was rude please so we can sort out this problem. Loose dogs? When was this please? Loud Music? When was this please?
Regards
The Old Vicarage Team
