  • Green and spacious park in Gloucestershire
  • On-site restaurant famous for its excellent food
  • Seven miles to Sharpness Canal and Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust
Greenery and space are on the menu at The Pepper Pot Caravan Park near Dursley in Gloucestershire, which is kept tiptop by its on-site and friendly wardens, who live in and are to hand for any advice or help needed by Pepper Potters during their stay. Facilities are well-maintained and in a purpose-built shower and loo block; an indoor washing-up area and a coin-operated washing machine are also on site. But the best part of The Pepper Pot? Its on-site bar and bistro, The Pepper Pot pub, with decently priced home-cooked meals using the best of local ingredients from local suppliers, such as salads, burgers and quality matured steaks. (If you think your little mover and shaker won't fancy a steak, they have plenty to pick from on the children's menu.)

What customers say

Pepper Pot Caravan Park is a well-maintained, clean, and friendly site, praised for its spacious pitches and excellent toilet and shower facilities. Its convenient location near the M5 makes it ideal for stopovers. The adjoining Pepper Pot pub receives positive mentions for its food and atmosphere. While some guests noted noise from the nearby motorway and railway, most found it unobtrusive. A few minor issues, such as the gravel pitches and occasional pub service hiccups, were mentioned but did not detract significantly from the overall positive experiences.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked We stayed at the pepper pot caravan park for the first time at the end of October, it’s a very nice place to stay, we had a hedged plot so was lovely and private, facilities are clean and the pub next door did a good pint and meals, we will definitely stay there again.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Clean facilities, friendly welcome from Jane, and great walks off lead for the dog close by. We used it as a base camp for going to The Wave, which was super handy.

Disliked Motion activated light in the bathroom, that doesn’t register movement in the loo… I swear I wasn’t in there THAT long…!!!

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked 2nd time staying here, very clean site, toilet / shower block excellent, food in the pub amazing again. Pitch nice and level no need for adjustments.

Disliked Right hand gate on entrance doesn't have anyway of it being fixed back, as we were sat at the barrier while using the intercom to contact the wardens the wind caught it and it bashed against or motorhone, very lucky that no damage was caused. Water hose holder coming away from fixings.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked Nice site, good location.

Disliked Very dark on any evening, very little outside lighting. Ladies toilet blocked and had to keep turning off the shower as that was also very slow to drain. Toilets and showers could have done to be a bit cleaner.

Electric gravel touring pitch

Liked My wife and I spent 2 nights on the Pepper Pot site in our motorhome with her sister and brother in law joining us in theirs.
It is a very pleasant, well maintained site.
The facilities were clean, some kind of seating in the shower area would make showering far easier.
A big shout out for the lovely lady in reception.
She was delightful, unfortunately I didn't get her name.
Overall it was a very pleasant stay and I would be happy to recommend it.

Liked Campsite it's nice and clean. The presence of a pub on site is a plus. Unfortunately, the proximity of the highway and railway tracks is a minus.

Local attractions

The Pepper Pot Caravan Park is in a decent spot to use as a base for exploring Gloucestershire and its surrounds, particularly for those who like their wildlife or historic homes. Plenty of other activities and attractions can be found within ten miles. Two golf clubs are within a quick drive, the Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club two and a half miles away and the Cotswold Edge Golf Club within five. Also within a short drive are Berkeley Castle and the Vale of Berkeley (two and a half miles) and the Cattle Country Adventure Park (two miles) for yee-haw adventuring. Wildlife types have the River Severn Estuary and the Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust to explore within six and seven miles respectively, with more species to see at Oldown Country Park eight miles away; wildfowl and other critters along the nearby Gloucester to Sharpness Canal, and Dean Forest and the Wye Valley 11 miles from base. More into historic homes, local history or greenery? Take your Pepper Pot pick from the National Trust's Woodchester Mansion and park or Westbury Court Gardens (seven and 11 miles); Chavenage House and the National Arboretum at Westonbirt (both ten miles), or the National Waterways Museum at Gloucester Docks 16 miles away. The Pepper Pot team also recommends a punt at Chepstow Racecourse, 11 miles away; a look at the longest village green in England at Frampton On Severn nine and a half miles away, or a dip at Dursley Pool and Sports Centre within five and a half miles. For day trips, sink into some shopping and sightseeing at Bristol or spa city Bath.
