What customers say

This eco-friendly site offers a peaceful, back-to-nature experience with spacious pitches and beautiful countryside views. Facilities are basic but clean, including woodland showers and compost toilets. Guests praise the friendly staff, the excellent farm shop and cafe, and the overall sense of tranquility. While some found the facilities rustic or encountered minor issues like shower temperature, the majority enjoyed the natural setting and value for money, with many planning return visits.

Green Field non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Ended up not staying

Disliked This isnt a good place for female solo travellers if they have a long trip to get here.
I found myself stuck in motorway congestion and what should have taken me 90 minutes ended up taking 4 hours, just to get me roughly half way. I emailed ahead at this 4 hour stopping point as I realised with the traffic conditions that I wouldn't make it here for 5pm. I was hoping I would receive instructions on where to park up as I had done my previous campsite having been caught in Storm Florris. Instead I received a cold "you'll have to find somewhere else to stay tonight". Which on a Friday night was likely going to result in nowhere but a risky layby. There was some back tracking when I explained a second time that the traffic was behind my control and that I was alone. But at this point I felt upset that the owners had been willing to leave me vulnerable and had decided to just drive the extra bit of distance home, ending my road trip 3 days early. I feel I need to share my experience as a warning to others.

Green Field non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Everything! I chose Abbey Home Farm as a last minute one-night trip as it was very well priced. I loved the car-free field, the further you walk from the car park the quieter and more secluded the pitches are. Fantastic views across the valley, sufficient eco-friendly facilities and a hot shower. Great location for exploring the Cotswolds. Also very helpful staff, accommodating me even though I had accidentally booked the wrong night!

Green Field non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Amazing place, excellent Location, beautifully kept and clean. I will come back again.

Disliked Really need a "late" checkin option for solo cyclist or walkers . It created a little stress as a long distance cyclist knowing I needed to be in by 5 PM.

Sweet Hill yurt (no electricity, private bathroom amenities)

Liked We stayed in the sweet Hill yurt in our own little woods for a mini break, and we had an amazing time! We didn't really see much of the farm cause we were just having a great time in the woods, my kids 7 and 9 loved it, we cooked evething over the fire, even in the two storms, the owners are lovely and it was the best! We will be back!

Disliked My son wasn't a fan of the toilet but really who is, my only niggles and it's so small is cause the shower bucket (the shower is slow but I loved it) hangs so low it would be handy to have a little shower seat, the other purely because we had storms was it would have been handy to have a picnic bench under a shelter of some kind, again it didn't stop us having a great time

Green Field non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The overall atmosphere of the place was really lovely. There was plenty of space, easy access to the facilities, a gorgeous cafe and overall great a charm to the place.

Disliked The cafe had limited options for vegetarian gluten free meals which meant my friend couldn't eat there on the Sunday.

Green Field non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Liked the simple, back to basics feel… the toilets and showers in the woodlands were great and made us feel more in touch with nature! Nice to have a break from the norm and go back to basics.
Quiet site, nice walks around the site & farm shop

Disliked Nothing major… showers didn’t really come through warm, but we just had super quick cold ones 😂

Green Field non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Loved the wild meadow pitches and the beautiful view of the rolling hills. The little path to the farm shop is beautiful and had a really lovely relaxed hidden away feeling.

Disliked We forgot to bring toilet roll! 😂

Local attractions

Keen to explore the area on two wheels? Rent a bicycle from Cotswold eBikes on site, and set off down quiet rural roads to pretty villages built of mellow stone in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (20 minutes’ ride). If you’ve got kids on board, make for the lakeside beach and floating inflatables at Cotswold Country Park and Beach (40 minutes), or let them burn off more energy on paddleboards and kayaks at Lake 32 Outdoor Centre (35 minutes). When only cuddling animals will do, it’s time to head to Cotswold Farm Park (35 minutes’ drive), to bottle-feed lambs, baby goats and piglets, see rare-breed farm animals and take tractor rides. In search of a bit of Cotswolds history? You’ll find it among the fourth-century AD Roman ruins at Chedworth Roman Villa (25 minutes’ drive), where you can admire ornate floor mosaics and the Roman version of central heating. If your interest is piqued, you can see more local Roman finds at the Corinium Museum (10 minutes), which has fine displays of sculpture, mosaics and jewellery.
