Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked This was an absolutely lovely site.
Extremely peaceful and pitches were roomy and very level and well kept.
Great communication prior to our arrival and we were informed which pitch we had been allocated.
The pub is lovely at the front of the campsite and access to the campsite at the side of the pub is easy.
Situated in a great area to visit local attractions.
We would definitely stay again.

Disliked Nothing to dislike the campsite is great.

What customers say

This small, adult-only touring site is situated behind The Chequers Inn pub in a quiet village, offering a peaceful stay. Pitches are level, well-maintained, and equipped with tables. Facilities include 24-hour pub toilets. The pub serves excellent, home-cooked food, though advance booking is essential. Guests praised the friendly hosts, the site's cleanliness, and its convenient location near the M1. Some noted the tight entrance and lack of showers.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Spacious pitches with a picnic bench and umbrella provided.
Only a small site in a small village so ideal for much needed quiet, relaxation and rest.
Loved the horses in field behind us.

Disliked No shower facilities but we managed with that by being prepared with wipes as we don't have a shower in our tiny camper.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked This is a very well kept site behind a quaint pub in a nice village. The pitches are spacious, handstanding and each is equipped with a picnic table and parasol.
Electricity is included in the fee and fresh water and elsan facilities are available. There are no showers but the toilets in the pub are available 24/7 for guests.
Food is available on a preorder basis and the drinks are very reasonably priced.
All in all a very pleasant stopover.

Disliked Nothing.

Local attractions

Do a round of the greens at Erewash Valley Golf Club (20 minutes' walk), a well-kept local club with fab tree-lined fairways that's easily accessible on foot. Other outdoor pursuits around here include fishing, with the nearest angling spot about five minutes' drive away, and birdwatching – Attenborough Nature Centre (20 minutes) may be named after the nearby village rather than the TV presenter, but it's still a prime pick for a spot of ornithology. Nottingham city centre (20 minutes) is next up, for a castle, shopping centres and the interactive National Justice Museum. (Rather not drive around town? Pull up to one of the city's park and rides and take the tram instead.) On the outskirts of Nottingham is Wollaton Hall (20 minutes), an Elizabethan country house with a deer park and formal gardens. (Remember Batman's mansion in The Dark Knight Rises? Yep, that was filmed here.) Heading towards the Peak District National Park (from 45 minutes) is also on the cards, whether you opt for Derbyshire dalliances in the grounds of Chatsworth House (an hour) or old-time amusements and riverside walks in Matlock Bath (45 minutes).
