What customers say

This is a small, quiet, adult-only touring site located behind a friendly, welcoming pub. Pitches are spacious, level, and well-maintained, with many featuring individual grass areas, picnic tables, and parasols. Guests consistently praise the cleanliness of the site and the 24-hour access to pub toilets. The pub itself is a highlight, offering excellent, freshly prepared food (booking in advance is recommended) and a warm atmosphere with friendly locals. The site is easily accessible from the M1, making it a convenient stopover or base for exploring the local area. Dogs are welcome on both the site and in the pub. Minor points raised include the need for advance booking for food and the absence of showers. Some reviews mention a tight entrance and the chemical disposal point may require some agility. The owners are frequently described as incredibly friendly and accommodating, with a notable mention of their pet Harris Hawk, Ken Moon.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Well laid out pitches with benches on each pitch. Very clean toilets, loved to meet Ken Moon, harrier hawk. Didn't see him fly but a beautiful bird of prey. Didn't get to eat in pub as no meals on Mondays but very welcoming.

Disliked N/a

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Spacious and level gravel pitch with grass area to the side with a bench.
Entrance mildly restricted but 7.5m motorhome goes through with ease. Hosts are really friendly. Sue was out flying Ken Moon, her Harris Hawk, in the morning.

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Good size hard standing pitches
Great location
Get to ser Mr Moon being flown

Disliked Not the owners fault as cleaned daily. But finding more and more wherever we go that some people just don't care how they leave the toilets. Used to just be the mens but now the women's. What's wrong with people??? Im sure they wouldn't leave it like that at home??

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch

Liked Me and the wife stayed from 27th dec to jan 1st 2026
The site has 5 no pitch’s all with electric and drainage, 1 water tap feeds the site , entrance a little tight but good drivers won’t have an issue . The pub is very nice and cosy with all the locals making you feel like home . Sue and Ian were very friendly and looked after us well .

Local attractions

Do a round of the greens at Erewash Valley Golf Club (20 minutes' walk), a well-kept local club with fab tree-lined fairways that's easily accessible on foot. Other outdoor pursuits around here include fishing, with the nearest angling spot about five minutes' drive away, and birdwatching – Attenborough Nature Centre (20 minutes) may be named after the nearby village rather than the TV presenter, but it's still a prime pick for a spot of ornithology. Nottingham city centre (20 minutes) is next up, for a castle, shopping centres and the interactive National Justice Museum. (Rather not drive around town? Pull up to one of the city's park and rides and take the tram instead.) On the outskirts of Nottingham is Wollaton Hall (20 minutes), an Elizabethan country house with a deer park and formal gardens. (Remember Batman's mansion in The Dark Knight Rises? Yep, that was filmed here.) Heading towards the Peak District National Park (from 45 minutes) is also on the cards, whether you opt for Derbyshire dalliances in the grounds of Chatsworth House (an hour) or old-time amusements and riverside walks in Matlock Bath (45 minutes).
