  • Well-kept family site in the Peak District National Park’s Hope Valley
  • Pennine Way start 15 minutes’ drive; Chatsworth House half an hour
  • Peaceful tree-shaded pitches with modern facilities
Set in Derbyshire’s Peak District National Park, Hope Valley Holidays has an excellent location between the villages of Hope and Bamford in the lush Hope Valley, with easy access to the Castleton caves and climbing at Mam Tor, Stanage Edge and Kinder Scout all within 25 minutes’ drive. The site has pitches across several peaceful and tree-lined fields, with oh-so-smart heated shower and washroom facilities. The owners have put the natural environment at the centre of everything they do; there are wildflower borders around every field, and the mature woodland surrounding the site is awash with wildflowers in spring and summer. Numerous birds and animals visit too, and a quiet hour spent on your pitch may well reveal the wildlife that shares your space. Barbecues are welcome on the grassy pitches, but those who fancy sampling the Derbyshire gourmet scene can head to a pub about five minutes’ away on foot. Easy meals? A takeaway in Hope (25 minutes’ walk) will also deliver to your pitch. There are numerous cafés, bars and restaurants in postcard-pretty Hathersage (five minutes’ drive), and a well-known fine-dining pub around 10 minutes away by car. A trainline is at the back of the site.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained and beautiful campsite with spacious pitches, offering excellent facilities including a popular games room with fridges and freezers. Its location is highly praised for exploring the surrounding countryside. While some guests noted noise from a nearby railway line and main road, most found it manageable, especially with earplugs. Owners are consistently described as friendly and helpful.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked This is a beautiful campsite, with large pitches, and lots of space for the kids to play safely.
There's good transport access and near to some lovely locations and places to visit.
We loved that we had a shelf of the fridge and freezer, which was great for storing food without worrying about the hot weather.
The games room was also fabulous, with games to play abd borrow during yiur stay, as well as a book swap.
There were great washing, toilet and shower facilities which were lovely and clean.
Andy and Jill were both very friendly and helpful.
We will be back!

Disliked The noise from the maintenance train on Saturday night, caused most campers to wake, but it's not something Andy or Jill can control.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great value site with lots of facilities!
Manager on site was super polite and welcoming, made me feel comfortable immediately.
Very spacious and tons of options for activities/restaurants/shopping within easy driving distance.

Disliked Some train/car noise, but was easy for me to deal with (your mileage may vary, I sleep with earplugs regardless)

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Very friendly owners, peaceful site with plenty of space to pitch up, clean and accessible utilities on site. All for a reasonable price.

Disliked The train track is quite close by to the campsite, so expect a little noise when they pass by.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Staff were very friendly and welcoming upon arrival. Facilities were clean and the site was well kept. Lots of space.

Disliked Showers were not particularly warm or powerful but obviously this is to be expected when camping so wasn't a big issue. Site is situated next to a main road and a railway so it was not the most peaceful, but nothing that a pair of earplugs doesn't solve.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Space, green grass. Pleasant welcoming owner. Toilet facilities. Availability of inside space for evenings, fridge/freezer and games room.

Disliked Low hanging branches and narrow tracks made it difficult to get in without scratching the car. Quite a bit of noise overnight (argument going on with one party the first night, baby crying a lot the second) and the train noise would have been helpful to know about.
