  • Well-kept family site in the Peak District National Park’s Hope Valley
  • Pennine Way start 15 minutes’ drive; Chatsworth House half an hour
  • Peaceful tree-shaded pitches with superb modern facilities and a shop
Set in Derbyshire’s Peak District National Park, Hope Valley Holidays opened for the first time in 2026. It has an excellent location between the villages of Hope and Bamford in the lush Hope Valley, with easy access to the Castleton caves and climbing at Mam Tor, Stanage Edge and Kinder Scout all within 25 minutes’ drive. The site has pitches across several peaceful and tree-lined fields, with oh-so-smart heated shower and washroom facilities dotted strategically around the place, and a small shop selling essentials. The owners have put the natural environment at the centre of everything they do; there are wildflower borders around every field, and the mature woodland surrounding the site is awash with wildflowers in spring and summer. Numerous birds and animals visit too, and a quiet hour spent on your pitch may well reveal the wildlife that shares your space. Barbecues are welcome on the grassy pitches, but those who fancy sampling the Derbyshire gourmet scene can head to a pub about five minutes’ away on foot. Easy meals? A takeaway in Hope (25 minutes’ walk) will also deliver to your pitch. There are numerous cafés, bars and restaurants in postcard-pretty Hathersage (five minutes’ drive), and a well-known fine-dining pub around 10 minutes away by car.

What customers say

This well-maintained campsite offers spacious pitches and friendly, helpful owners. Guests praise the clean facilities, including a popular games room with fridges and freezers. Its excellent Peak District location is ideal for walks and exploring. The nearby train line and road are occasionally noted for noise, but most guests find it does not significantly impact their stay. Additional facilities are planned.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Clean facilities, electric showers, games room providing activities for an evening, location.

Disliked The trainline which ran directly next to the campsite and consistently had trains running on it throughout the night, which was mentioned in one sentence, at the end of a long paragraph.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Great location, well-maintained fields, clear signage, immaculate toilets and showers and washing area, helpful host, fun games room.

Disliked I know there's nothing the hosts can do about it and they make it very clear before booking, but the train line is very loud. However, we fetched earplugs and it was fine.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked The pitches were very comfy and shaded, and it was a calm and lovely place. Everything you need is provided, including free hot showers, hot water at the washing area and clean toilets. There are also fridges available for storage.

Disliked I had a very positive experience at this campsite. The only minor issue is that, if you want a proper hot shower, you have to time it right (especially at weekends).

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Stayed for 1 night with a view to running early next morning. Campsite really well maintained, toilets sparkling clean. The games room “hut” equipped with fridges/freezers was a massive win. Owners very friendly - they even allowed me to move my booking to the week after due to a last-minute family issue that popped up. I returned late from my run but the owners were kind enough to not rush to boot me out at bang-on 11am.
Overall really loved my stay, thank you so much for your kindness!
One more thing, Bike & Boot is a lovely pub/restaurant a 5 minute walk down the road - recommended!

Disliked Loud trains passing so may need earplugs :)
