Yes, there's fishing available at this site. Quite a bit of it, in fact: one elated angler staying at Springwood Fisheries bagged over a hundred specimens in a tiddling two days... Not an avid angler? There's a fair bit to do anyway around this friendly Derbyshire site, as it's on the edge of the National Forest and is a cracking base for a decent bagful of local attractions: Calke Abbey, for example, is less than a mile away and the racing circuit of Donington Park within about 10 to 15 minutes' drive. All guests have access to the site facilities of toilets and showers, a water station, chemical waste and refuse disposal. A café on site serves snacks and hot and cold drinks; Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Melbourne village are close by for other supplies. The angling at Springwood Fisheries is of the coarse variety, on two lakes brimming with common, ghost and mirror carp, crucians, ide, chub, tench, roach, rudd, perch and barbel, and is charged per day ticket. Finally, please note that while older children are welcome at Springwood Fisheries, the nature and layout of the site means there's limited space to play: ball games and bikes are therefore not allowed.

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked My partner and chose this for fishing and walks with the dog, fishing was great. Pls
Note you are charged the full
Amount to fish per day on top of the camp charge. Discount would have been nice. sadly no accessible walks for the dog. There are a few that are all season old Caravans. The one next to me had a log Burner, Sadly when lit filled my van with the smoke, wasn’t great.

From the manager: Hi glad you enjoyed your stay it’s only £8 to fish for the day so not sure if I can reduce it any lower than that amount there is 70k of fish in the lakes and they need to be maintained

As for the BBQ smoke I will have a word that they are not lit near the next pitches

Liked Site not to Bad toilet need an up date though! My wife got stuck in the loo Because of the door was jammed she wasn’t impressed at all☹️

The shower was fab - although just one and the washing up area was perfect.

The Sparrows camping pod

Liked Loved it here and can’t wait to come back! I booked one night in one of the pods for my partners birthday weekend. The pod was immaculate.
We fished both days we were there.
The guy who owns/runs it is very pleasant, chatty and helpful!
