Electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Lovely campsite, really clean and peacefull, in addition the three extra eateries vans a great idea. Pitty we weren't here for the full weekend to use them , the pizza one was lovely, we could also choose witch pitch we went on , witch was good as my mum needs to be near the facilities. Great idea of having a fridge and freezer for campers to use, as well as charging points for phones etc.

Electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked - Free to choose any pitch
- clean and new toilets/showers
- kids felt safe to visit animals/rope swing
- food vans on site on a weekend
- Small shop on site
- Although it was busy, it didn’t feel crowded
- great location for exploring Bakewell & surrounding towns

Disliked - not a dislike more a recommendation of placing a bench of some kind in the shower/wet rooms for shower bag/belongings
- we stayed over a long weekend and music/talking could be heard after midnight across the field, not a dislike just advice for people reading if they prefer a quieter site

Liked We had an excellent stay at this campsite and couldn’t fault it. The toilet and shower facilities were spotlessly clean, and we loved the three small caravans offering a great variety of food and drinks. The coffee machine was also a lovely added touch!
The location is fantastic, with beautiful scenic views to enjoy. The owners were absolutely lovely, friendly and welcoming, and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us during our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

Electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked We really loved the site. The communal (toilets, showers and kitchen) areas were clean and never busy). The shop offered all the essentials and delicious pots of ice cream.
There were also 3 food and drink trailers offering a nice variety if you didn’t want to cook.
Friendly staff and you can’t beat the Peak District for a great location for walking!
Nice and quiet, felt very peaceful and easy to relax.
Lots of room for kids to play and cycle round, including trees and tree swings.

What customers say

This large, friendly campsite offers plenty of space and stunning views, with direct access to Lathkill Dale walks. Visitors praise the clean and modern toilet and shower facilities, along with helpful staff. Food vans and a small shop add to the convenience. While generally quiet, some weekends can be busy. Non-electric gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Gorgeous, relaxed site with spotless facilities, plenty of loos and showers. Communal kitchen with coffee machine, brilliant! Dog friendly and very well kept grounds.

Disliked As your website advertises you have access to Lathkill Dale, it would be helpful to have a sign showing which way to head from campsite.

Non-electric grass touring pitch

Liked Facilities were great, clean and stocked. Staff were friendly upon meeting. Best part for us was, as you drive through each field towards the back of the campsite, the views were spectacular. Plenty of room , some parts sloping but we have leveller’s so no issue here. Would absolutely stay again and recommend.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Plenty of open space too choose from where to put the tent down, beautiful views , friendly cats roaming around, clean toilets and showers. Easy to find. Close to bigger shops if needed. And close to hike trails.
Friendly and helpful owners!

Disliked WiFi didn’t reach where we pitched up. It wasn’t a big problem , just the kids at bedtime was grumpy because they wanted to watch a movie haha

Liked Beautiful site with fantastic facilities. Fantastic location, and the facilities on site are impeccably clean and fresh. Food and drink provision for evening meals and breakfast (we stayed on a Saturday night) were excellent, and the setting is picturesque.

Local attractions

Scenic walks are to be had along the namesake river in Lathkill Dale, where you can stride out towards Lathkill Head Cave (an hour and 20 minutes’ walk) or marvel at the clear springs at The Blue Waters near the peaceful village of Over Haddon (35 minutes). For a slightly longer ramble, Arbor Low Stone Circle and Gib Hill Barrow (90 minutes) reward with prehistoric monuments and ancient burial mounds. Combine your stroll around the verdant grounds at Chatsworth House with a guided tour of the mansion’s ornate rooms packed with priceless antiques, or take in the Elizabethan Walled Gardens at Haddon Hall (both 20 minutes’ drive) after you’ve admired the tapestry collection and medieval chapel. For an insight into Peak District heritage, visit the bijou Eyam Museum (also 20 minutes) in the famed ‘plague village’ to learn the story of the Bubonic Plague of 1346–52, or have a wander around the deserted remains of Magpie Mine (five minutes’ drive), which was the last working lead mine in Derbyshire and closed in 1958.
