Great site, great views.

Liked Everything, this is not an understatement, we loved the site, the rustic feel and working farm with the animals roaming freely was brilliant. Louise was excellent and very helpful when we arrived "I am the reception" was the response when we asked where reception was, which made us laugh. She brought us a fire pit, and gave us a nice detailed description of the site along with some history of the old railway line, she pointed us in the direction of the village which was a lovely little walk through forrest and woodland (in a straight line as an old railway would suggest) We stayed in the George railway cart, which was adequate and was exactly what we expected, minimalist could be a good word, basic could be another but we loved it nonetheless.

Disliked Didn't really dislike anything with the site, you cant complain about cockerels in the morning (even if they wake you at 5am and keep making lots of noise - its part of the experience) If i were to name one thing and it would be the lack of plug sockets in the glamping pods/railway cars. But this isnt really an issue at all because there is a space to charge things, if you dont mind leaving your phone in a room unattended, otherwise bring a battery bank with you.

Overall, this campsite is brilliant and well maintained by staff.

Liked Location is excellent, the bay is beautiful, the whole site very well maintained. I must emphasize the secluded feeling that you get here, so much so that phone signal for me was practically non existent (massive plus in my book) Staff were helpful and friendly too, although never saw them since checking in. We couldn't get over how many rabbits were on the site just wandering freely day and night, it was beautiful. We saw foxes too which was fun, lots of opportunity to catch crabs in the rock pools, and if you go off exploring the caves a little dont get too much of a fright if you spot a giant cave spider! (Im not afraid of spiders but I definitly backed away from that one!) The facilities were well maintained and kept clean, however a little dated and could maybe do with more showers (without the push button because the water keeps stopping)

Disliked Not a lot to complain about really, but helpful to others to note that the beach is massive, when the tide does go out it is incredibly far out. Having to pay to use wifi if you wanted to, I didnt bother but not ideal. Also 20p for the hair dryers (my oartner mentioned this) In a family of two girls and my partner that would be an expensive time at the shower block. Another issue we had was that the camp shop was not a shop you would expect for a campsite. Only selling toys and sweets and not the regular necessities that a travelling camper might need; sugar, milk, bread, meat etc etc. (Although if you drive five mins down the road you find a Londis and twenty minutes to Castle Douglas you find an Aldi. It would have been better to have the option on the campsite and the car would have been left alone for the duration of our stay) i wonder if they have deliberately not included those items in their shop in an attempt to help the local area, which is a nice thought. I think some clarity prior to booking regarding the use of gazebos would be beneficial, from my understanding they are not allowed, yet we saw a tent pitch that had one on. We would have benefited from bringing ours had we thought it would be allowed.

Great site with great views.

Liked All of it. Friendly staff to welcome you to the site and inform you of facilities etc, really good location and easy to find. Field where we stayed may aswell have been with the cows, on the morning they do their walk from their barn to their field which was an amazing site to see especially with the children. The price was very fair infact cheap, given that there are very reasonable facilities on site too including laundry, wash room, chemical disposal and showers.

Disliked Can't be helped by the site, but there was a festival in a nearby field (about 4 miles away) the musice kept us awake most of the night. Again not the sites fault but was the only thing we disliked about our stay.

Disliked Lack of facilities, yeah three toilets in a block and four portable ones. But one shower without hot water. Granted these things are mentioned on the website before booking but even still for the price paid this is not good enough. Paying campsite rates for something that is essentially wildcamping, is not acceptable. Unable to find on Google maps, found site by chance.
