Non-electric grass pitch
Liked Location location location! What a fabulous spot for a campsite. Sitting along the coast with direct (across a road) access onto the beaches and coastal path. The sunsets are spectacular.
The site itself is a very large field so you’re not on top of one another, plenty of compostable toilets and the showers are great. A morning dip in the ocean followed by a cold shower and I was ready for my day!
You can walk along the beach to the neighbouring town and nearby is a pizza / drinks van which during August are having musicians playing on an evening.
If you’re after a back to basics campsite but with the benefit of toilets and showers I highly recommend it.
Disliked Handy tip: Take some water bottles/carriers, if you park at the opposite end of the field to the amenities, it’s a long walk to fill up the kettle!

Non-electric grass tent pitch
Liked This site is great, for couples, families and groups of friends alike, there is so much space, with unspoilt views all around. We loved waking up each morning to the Alpacas.
The facilities are fantastic. The showers are clean, tidy and warm, with separate toilet block.
The fire pit and wood delivery was great we loved seeing so many people sitting around their firepit, chatting.
Everyone was respectful and quiet during the night.
For £20 a night (booked direct) this site is a must stay.
Disliked Nothing, we’ll definitely return.

Non-electric grass and earth tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked Great location, riverside with lovely views. Ideal location for accessing the peaks.
The site is a really good size, so you dont feel on top of one another, and although the main showers (lovely and hot!) and toilets are to one end, the owners have provided extra toilets around the site which my mum said were immaculate.
There is a really lovely riverside walk to Horton. We did a circular walk.
Disliked It didn’t bother me but the access road isn’t very wide so care needs to be taken. I thought it would be useful to have little signs advising where the passing points were. I was coming to the site as two were leaving and found I could have passed them closer but didn’t want to get stuck reversing so ended up waiting a while.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked A perfect weekend spent at Barley Fields Campsite walking along the Norfolk Coast Path to Sheringham.
A nice relaxing site, with two large fields so you can choose your own spot. The showers were the best! Spacious, warm and powerful, much appreciated after a long walk.
The touches the owners have added to this site really do make it, I will definitely be returning.
Disliked Absolutely nothing!

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch
Liked A quiet spot at the end of a track (alot of reviews say there a huge holes, its bumpy but with care not bad at all), which borders the river. We booked it as we’ve just bought a new tent and cooking equipment for longer trips and needed a site where we could have space to try it all out. The pitches are really good sizes, plenty of room for a decent sized tent and have chairs outside and not feel like your on top of the next tent.
My partner brought his fishing things and spent time along the river. The owner was great at communicating and when she found out we were fishing cut back the reeds before we arrived. He caught many tench.
Short 15-20 minute walk into Ramsey.
Great location to get to Ely, St Ives and Huntingdon.
Disliked The site is unmanned which we knew and we’re fine with but I was a bit cautious, the gate didn’t always lock but as we were at the back of the site we felt safer.
There are a few vehicles which looked derelict and untidy.

Bristol, Greater Bristol, England
Liked We chose Walnut Tree Farm as we were visiting the Bristol Balloon Fiesta & Cheddar Gorge - this was the perfect location.
We loved everything about it - the owner went out of his way to ensure we were all ok. We bought a wheelbarrow full of firewood from him (£5) which meant we could chill around the fire in the evening.
If the compost loo's put you off - I can assure you these compost loo's are nicer than any public toilet I've used recently!
We'll be back I'm sure!
Thanks for a great weekend. Nicola
