General

  • On the beach in the Costa Dorada
  • Big pool, paddling pool and sun lounger space alongside
  • Restaurant, bar with terrace, fishing and regular summer activities

A setting by the Mediterranean Sea… in a region rich in history and Catalan traditions… and on a part of Costa Dorada coastline only 20 minutes' drive from the rides of PortAventura World and the ancient sites of Tarragona... you'll want to have many nights' siesta at Camping Playa y Fiesta.

By day, there's a stunning Costa Dorada beach (see pics) to bask on or swim from, and big sunbathing areas to soak up the Spanish sun straight on site. If you're feeling sporty, the team arranges regular tournaments and activities such as aqua gym in high season; there's a multisports area with indoor football and basketball facilities, and table tennis, beach volleyball and pétanque are all available to keep your energised self occupied too. Fishing and a games room are to hand as well if you're not feeling very sporty at all.

But. The big part of this park is undoubtedly the outdoor pool, big enough to take a whopping total of 450 splashing holidaymakers without creaking at the seams. That doesn't include the kids, who have their own sizeable paddling pool to dip into while the grownups float lazily around the main pool or sunbathe on the loungers alongside.

And then as evening falls… Camping Playa y Fiesta also has a restaurant, serving up a fine selection of local and international dishes, and a bar with roomy terrace for you to sink into as the sun goes down – like most places on site, this comes with a side helping of spectacular sea views too.

Relax and enjoy the sea view .Wild camping with benefits!simply rustic 22/08/2017

  • Electric hardstanding motorhome pitch

Pitches right on the beach with no barrier between you and the sea . Even the inner pitches have great access to the beach. Trees offering some shade on most pitches.
Beautiful views and great cycle paths from the site .Easy cycling to Cambrills and Miami Platja ,both have plenty to do.
Nice bar area to sit and enjoy the cool shade. Good shop for bread and croissants in the morning and restaurant open for lunch and dinner.
Fruit market just a short cycle towards Miami - melons, mushrooms, tomatoes ,peaches and olives etc. Wine and Vermouth in plastic flagons.
Great beach bars down the beach. Fabulous food at German restaurant in the village.
Plenty of showers and toilets cleaned regularly.
    Great swimming pool with lifeguard.

    Disliked:

    Nothing.

Don't expect a holiday camp- it's not. It may be too rustic for some. Not much for kids to do if they don't like swimming and sand.

    Restaurant and pool when open

    Disliked:

Very noisy late at night with dogs barking and music playing. Also train track very nearby . Limited hours when pool could be used. It opened at 11.30 in the morning!! Staff not very friendly, very little English spoken, beach pretty dirty and lots of anemones on nearest beach, only one fan per apartment. No oven, paella in restaurant disgusting. Furniture in apartments of v poor standard, very little entertainment/activities for children. Play ground dismal.

The campsite is rather tired but the campervan pitches are right by the sea. The bar and shop are perfectly adequate as are the toilet and shower facilities. There are coin operated washing machines and dryers available and the washing up sinks offer hot and cold water.
If you are looking for luxury and entertainment this is not the site for you, but if you are looking for a simple pitch in an idyllic location it is perfect.
We cycled to a nearby fruit and olive , wine and beer shop about 2K from the site opposite the huge Torres del Sol camping resort, and enjoyed sitting beneath an ancient olive tree drinking beer and eating olives!
In the evening a stroll towards the village along the beach towards Cambrills was rewarded by a drink and a meal at the beach bar where the staff were friendly and the food great. If you wanted a gourmet meal then the German restaurant in the village was excellent but tables have to be booked in advance due to it's popularity.
The days we spent relaxing in the sun and cooling off in the sea. The temperatures were in the high 30s but the sea breeze kept it comfortable most of the time.
All in all great value for money,a super little site which was very quiet due to the lack of facilities for kids!
There is a nice swimming pool with a lifeguard and plenty of room to sunbathe near the bar but we stayed by the sea.

Local attractions

This is a stunning part of Catalonian coast, on a beaut beach in the famed Mediterranean tourist destination of the Costa Dorada. A long length of shoreline, spectacular sandy beaches, and comely old towns like Cambrills and Salou are the main themes around here – and if you seek something more adrenalised, PortAventura World is only about 15 kilometres or 20 minutes' drive away.

Among the many popular places to visit in the region, and particularly recommended by the Camping Playa y Fiesta team, is the town of Mont-roig del Camp within 10 minutes' drive, made up of the historic town of Mont-roig del Camp and the beach resort of Miami Platja. The beach has a packed programme of summer entertainment and activities for all ages, including paddleboarding and kayaking trips, weekly family bike rides, exercise classes and family days.

Also recommended is Cambrils, home of peaceful beaches and a well-known marina, reachable by car in under 15 minutes; the spectacular and UNESCO-listed old ruins of Tarragona, 20 minutes away; and the fab old city of Reus, a must-see for its many sights including the Bofarull Palace, the Casa Navàs, the Palacio de los Marquesos de Tamarit and the Plaza Mercadal del Ayuntamiento or city hall.

Within about an hour's drive, the Delta de l'Ebre Natural Park makes up the largest wetland in Catalonia, and is a prime place for birdwatching.
