  • On the Riviera Dei Fiori with spectacular Alps views
  • Outdoor pool, paddling pool, solarium, playground and pétanque
  • Restaurant overlooking the pools and serving traditional food

Settling down for a peaceful stay in Imperia's Nervia Valley, among chestnuts, eucalyptus and mimosa trees, on a hillside site with spectacular views of the surrounding Alps… sound good? Bag a break at family-run Camping Delle Rose, just over the border from France in a quiet corner of Liguria.

Run by Lorena, Mauro and their son Lorenzo, this park aims to give friendly welcomes to all, with attention and services carefully tailored to suit guests' individual needs. The family has added a summer pool and a paddling pool for dips on hot days, a solarium for basking at before and after, a playground for the kids, and a pétanque court popular for getting competitive at the end of a sunny day.

Overlooking the pools, the restaurant has regional food as its main focus, dishing up traditional dinners like pesto pasta, homegrown Taggiasche olives and rabbit ragu. Pizzas (always a topping option with the kids) are available from the woodfired oven.

Delle Rose also has a bar serving cold drinks, cappuccinos and coffees, as well as a snacks such as sandwiches and quick bites.

Please note

The outdoor swimming pool is open between 01/05 and 30/09 (subject to weather conditions).

Great pool with deck chairs. We used this every day as it was very hot when we were staying.

The camper vans were placed right beside the road which was very busy, especially at night time so was really noisy.

The camp ground is also difficult to find, even using the GPS - better sign posting would have been good. At the ground, we couldn't see any sign to indicate where reception was located and the access to the property isn't all that easy for a camper van to get into (quite narrow) - it would certainly be helpful for better sign posting.

    Poor wi fi.

Pool is quite refreshing after sunbathing, bar isn't too over priced. Pizza is nice, however the chef is extremely rude.

Staff were rude, family who own the site not very friendly towards customers unless they're Italian, pitch was very small and crowded, wasn't grass either! Entertainment went on every night until 10:30 pm sometimes later so no way to relax and enjoy a meal alfresco as the site was too small to get away from the noise! Campsite isn't as clean as it makes out on website, and only bit of grass on whole site you had to pay €5 euro each a day to hire a chair to sit on. On weekends the pool is taken over by locals so no chance of relaxing. Campsite feels quite far from anything to do, and finally if you're not a fan of bugs, the crickets who make an extremely loud noise constantly are the size of an adults palm and like to enter your tent !

Local attractions

Have at it with beach, mountain and rural holidays: this peaceful Liguria area is also only about 10 kilometres from the coast, in Italian countryside dotted with medieval villages and fortified towns, castles and churches, busy local food markets and local cafés and small restaurants.

The site is also 12 miles from San Remo, a popular place on the Italian Riviera famed for its summer flower markets, the Milan–San Remo cycling classic and the Sanremo Music Festival, the singing competition that inspired the Eurovision Song Contest (whether that's a fab or a naff thing depends on your own individual taste...).

Around the site's local municipality of Isolabona, hike the Passo del Cane mountain pass three kilometres away or tackle the peak of Monte Bignone, near San Remo in the San Romolo Natural Park. Coastal spots include Capo Mortola, Capo Verde, Cap Martin and Cap Rognoso; Monaco, Monte Carlo and the French Riviera are under 30 kilometres away.
