As Alsace locations go, this is a particularly fine one… Camping Onlycamp Vauban is just on the edge of Neuf-Brisach, so it’s got both a peaceful atmosphere and easy access to shops, restaurants and other amenities when you need them. This is also a great location for days out – Colmar and Mulhouse are both close by, and the German border is just a few kilometres away for jaunts over the border to places like Freiburg. The surrounding area is packed with places for a nature-filled day out or family attractions for the kids. Long-distance cyclists, take note – this is a handy site to know about, close to the EuroVelo 6 route and well set up with handy amenities including a bike storage facility. As for other facilities, well, there’s plenty here to make life nice and comfortable, whether you’re stopping over for a night or settling in for a longer break. A pétanque court and play area have been installed for a bit of gentle entertainment, and there’s a bar where you can order local beers, wine and cocktails (surely a holiday essential…). Food is also easily sorted, with a small grocery shop for self-caterers and a snack bar (selling things like pizzas, salads and tartes flambées) for those who’d rather someone else did the cooking. You can also order bread and pastries deliveries in high season. For more foodie options, it’s a 10-minute walk to the centre of town. Essential facilities have been well thought out here, including a motorhome chemical disposal point and heated bathrooms with disabled access.

Liked Schöner Stellplatz mit viel Grün und sehr ruhig.

Disliked Die sanitäre Anlage ist nur zur Hälfte nutzbar. Die Anlage direkt an der Rezeption war in takt und sauber. Duschen am Waschhaus wurden am Abreisetag entkernt und offenbar renoviert. Insgesamt war es okay .

Liked Eigentlich ein sehr gemütlicher ruhiger Platz. Man kann sich sich sein Platz selbst aussuchen.
Spielplatz ist ausreichend der Pool ist auch ausreichend und sogar beheizt (aber meistens zu)Personal ist freundlich. Das Preis Leistung Verhältnis ist echt gut.

Disliked Leider kein WLAN für Kinder bei schlechten Wetter sehr schlecht in der heutigen Zeit geht leider nix mehr ohne WLAN.
Die Duschen würden renoviert das war sehr nervig, das hätte man lieber in der neben Saison machen sollen. Der Rest de WC und Duschen sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen.
Das Kiosk war leider auch die ganze Zeit zu.
Der Pool ist anscheinend auch nur Dekoration. Er war leider die meiste Zeit zu obwohl er beheizt ist und es sehr angenehm war wenn es draußen doch bissel Kühler war.

Es ist eigentlich ein sehr schöner Platz man müsste nur bisschen mehr Liebe und Geld investieren und dann wäre er echt super.

Liked Platz ist sauber mit genug Fläche, es gibt die Möglichkeit zu duschen und einen kleinen Pool

Disliked Grundsätzlich handelt es sich um einen schönen Campingplatz. Dass kein See vorhanden ist, ist selbstverständlich kein Kritikpunkt, da dies bekannt ist und nicht in der Verantwortung des Platzbetreibers liegt.

Was uns jedoch sehr gestört hat, war die Situation bezüglich des Grillens. In der Online-Beschreibung des Campingplatzes wird angegeben, dass Grillen auf dem gesamten Platz erlaubt ist. Aufgrund dieser Information haben wir uns bewusst für diesen Platz entschieden und entsprechendes Equipment mitgebracht.

Als wir vor Ort mit dem Grillen beginnen wollten, wurden wir von den Betreibern darauf hingewiesen, dass Grillen nicht erlaubt sei. Dies war für uns sehr ärgerlich, da diese Information der Online-Beschreibung widerspricht. Hätte die tatsächliche Regelung bereits bei der Buchung klar ersichtlich dort gestanden, hätten wir den Campingplatz nicht gebucht.

Der Hinweis der Betreiber, dass entsprechende Verbotsschilder auf dem Platz aufgestellt sind, hilft in diesem Fall leider wenig, da Gäste diese Information erst nach der Anreise erhalten. Aus unserer Sicht sollten die Angaben auf der Website korrekt und eindeutig sein, damit man seine Buchungsentscheidung auf einer verlässlichen Grundlage treffen kann.

Local attractions

Alsace is a fabulous area for those with an interest in history and culture – and an easy place to start is MAUSA Vauban - Musée d'Art Urbain et du Street Art, 10 minutes’ walk away in Neuf-Brisach. The pretty Old Town in Colmar (25 minutes’ drive) is well worth a visit, as is its Unterlinden Museum (and it’s the capital of Alsatian wine too…) If you’re here to explore the natural landscapes, plot a course to the bird observatory in Marckolsheim (20 minutes) or head to Île du Rhin (10 minutes) for more bird-spotting plus walks, bike rides, fishing and sailing. There’s an excellent zoo in Mulhouse (35 minutes), along with the Cité du Train and Musée National de l’Automobile for those whose interests skew more towards engineering. Days out with the kids might include bouncing about on the trampolines at Xperience Park (35 minutes), mountain biking, archery and clambering through the trees at Form’Aventures, a whole lot of outdoor antics at Waouland, or a barefoot trail, toboggans and waterslide at Wiidoo’Gliss (all an hour's drive).
