General

  • Adults-only site in a secluded hill location
  • Free pitch and putt and book/DVD library
  • Large enclosed dog exercise area

After a bit of peace and quiet? Uncrazy Daisy Bank Touring Park takes adults only, and is tucked far from the madding crowd amidst heavenly hills on the Wales-Shropshire border.

The hardstanding, serviced pitches have free wifi and luxe bathroom facilities, and there’s a shop which sells homemade local tucker, plus a large, enclosed exercise area for Fido.

Relaxation is the name of the game here, so the on-site entertainment is low key: free pitch and putt, and a book and DVD library. Many guests spend their time exploring the seductive scenery surrounding the site, walking along Offa’s Dyke path, Kerry Ridgeway, the Severn Way, or in the Shropshire Hills (Long Mynd and the Stiperstones are both nearby).

Everything really, from the warm welcome it was a great stay and when we asked to stay another night, we were lucky, it wasn't a problem and they sorted that out us in minutes!
The shower/toilet rooms are clean and inviting, and I don't normally use the onsite facilities but here I found them very pleasant indeed!
It was nice to see proper recycling facilities onsite and a place for everything to go. The dog walk was a particular area for us as we have two staffies that like to run around lead free, so they loved it.
The pitches are spacious and most that we saw had levelling slabs laid down so you didn't have to bother! Most of the pitches are fully serviced which is a welcome luxury that we certainly haven't come across before in our 12 months of caravanning, but look forward to having again when we return to Daisy Bank!
The wifi isn't very fast or reliable, but when you stay in the middle of nowhere on an adults only site, surely you are there to enjoy the peace and quiet not surf the net!!!! Not an issue for us!
Everyone was friendly and it is like a small neighbourhood, you see the same people again and again and so you end up having long chats and a cuppa with your new friends! It is just fantastic here!

Absolutely nothing, really, nothing! Can't fault it in any way, shape or form!

Everything really, from the warm welcome and straight forward easy to find pitches to waking up every morning with lovely views of the valley below! We liked it so much we asked if we could stay for a further night, luckily there were no bookings for that pitch on that day so that was all sorted very easily, Thank you for that!
A very well kept site, the shower rooms are all clean and inviting, I don't normally use these when we go away but the standard of cleanliness was fantastic so I found myself using these instead of our shower in our 'van!
The dog walking area is a welcome addition which we haven't found anywhere else, the dogs can run around off the lead there, which they loved!
We will be staying again, well worth the money and being adults only and dog friendly it just ticks all of our boxes.
The fully serviced and level pitches are a pleasure, and if you don't have a long enough lead for the tv hook up then they will lend you one free of charge.
Free wifi is ok at certain times of day, a bit hit and miss but to be honest, why do you go away to a place in the middle of nowhere?? If you want super fast broadband etc etc then stay in a hotel in the city, not here!
Lovely and quiet place, great for a relaxing getaway.

Beautiful views, peace and quiet and the random layout of pitches. Family sized Shower rooms with toilet and basin.

    Disliked:

Getting our waste water into the drain as some pitches have the disposal point at the highest side. Needed supports for piping to achieve the required flow. Shower rooms were a little cool in the evenings.

the pitches were well spaced out .we stayed on Kerry pitch 17 .this had a great view over the hills. We think this field had the best views.

    Disliked:

Only down side no cold water when using the wash up area.the site is located on a very busy road so if you don't like the noise ask for Kerry field.

A very well laid out site quit easy to find, the view of the surrounding country side was great although it was a dull couple of days when we stayed the pitch was good all amenities were there and plenty of room for the motorhome and awning, toilets and showers were excellent and warm considering it is October
The area has plenty of local interest and some nice walks, there is a shop a mile or so away sells everything from a nail to tea bags great to stock up on all those things you forgot to bring
Yes my wife and I would visit again great communications with staff on site always there to answer any questions

Directions

Please do not try to use satnavs in the last 5 miles of your journey, it will try to take you down lanes that are neither suitable for a caravan nor necessary to go down.

We are located on the A489 between Craven Arms and Churchstoke.

If travelling east on the A489 from either Welshpool or Newtown follow the signs for Craven Arms once in Churchstoke. Pass Harry Tuffins garage and supermarket on your right. Daisy Bank is a further 2 miles on the right-hand side of the road.

If travelling via Shrewsbury, take the A488 sign posted from the A5 to Bishops Castle. It is approximately 30 minutes from the A5. The turning onto the A489 is a very sharp one to your right travelling down hill towards the village of Lydham. Check the map and follow it carefully so as not to miss the turn!

If travelling from Craven Arms, take the A489 and follow all signs to Newtown, we are signposted from Lydham and are approximately 2 miles on the left-hand side.

Other attractions include the red kite feeding centre at Rhyader, National Trust’s Powys Castle and gardens, and the coastal resort of Aberystwyth, a (very scenic) hour’s drive away.
