  • 10 minutes’ drive to Tenby for its castle, harbour and boat trips
  • 10 minutes from Heatherton and 30 from Oakwood
Penally Court Farm… a clifftop cracker. Sandy beaches, castles, coastal walks with spectacular views, colourful harbour towns – Pembrokeshire needs little introduction. But this little bit of it, in Penally just above Tenby, deserves more than simply introducing: ideally via fanfares, fireworks, a parade… But none of the above is needed on this peaceful family-run site. In lush green fields on the cliffs overlooking Tenby, it concentrates on simple, well-maintained facilities that don’t get in between you and the surrounds. You can park up where you stay, cook up alfresco feasts on barbecues, or take a three-minute stroll to a pub with grub in Penally. The village also has a shop for stocking up on basics; bigger stores and supermarkets are under 10 minutes' drive away in Tenby. Not that you’d only visit Tenby for baby wipes and beef burgers – it’s a handsome harbour town with pastel-hued houses, a castle, a fort (on an island) and lots of spots for eats and treats. And a cluster of beaches. The 20-minute walk into town is a terrific way to introduce yourselves to the area, or you could just run into the sea (five minutes’ walk from the site).

What customers say

This campsite boasts an excellent location, a short walk from the beach and Tenby. Staff are consistently praised for being friendly and helpful. Facilities are generally clean, though some guests noted they are dated and could benefit from an update. Pitches can be sloping, requiring levelling blocks. Road noise is a recurring concern for those near the main road, particularly overnight. Despite minor drawbacks, many visitors found the site to be a great base for exploring the area and would return.

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Location
Pub down the road
Sandwich Van

Disliked Shower/Toilet facilities were grubby. A dirty mop and bucket was left in there with dirty smelly water. I didn’t use them after this I got showered in my Motorhome.

Pitch next to a constant loud busy main road/motorway

Pitches too close together

No wardens were checking on noisy neighbours. The owners have a reception in a static caravan but lock up and go home quite early so there’s nobody manning the site?!

All we heard all evening was constant speeding traffic which was only separated by a bush. It made our Motorhome vibrate and I took ages to get to sleep. Also our neighbours talking loudly until 11pm each night. They were sat right at the side of our Motorhome. The pitches are too close together.

Unfortunately this has resulted in us not returning to this site. Tenby though has amazing beaches and a beautiful town with loads to do so we will be returning there but to a different site. This time I will make sure we are not next to a main road!! My mistake!!

Electric grass touring caravan pitch

Liked Perfect location to walk along beach to Tenby

Disliked The old toilet block with showers definitely needs updating it's like going back to 1972 along with spiders webs & moss on floor.

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Absolutely beautiful location. The site is well kept.
The site manager Kevin and son Mark are the kindest and most helpful people we have ever come across on any site we ve ever been on..

Kevin helped us out straight away with our electrics, helped to get us set up with an electrical lead so we could enjoy our holiday.

My sisters van broke down on arrival and he sourced and fitted her part.

I don't know anyone else that would do that.

To say he went above and beyond is an understatement, Absolutely Top man!

Lovely lovely friendly people.
I would recommend this site to everyone.

Beach is 10 minute walk, excellent for kids to go crabbing or playing in the sea.
WiFi dependant on how many guests staying but that I expect due to location as well.

You can walk from Penally into Tenby Town across the beach, which we did once.
Handy to have a trolley to carry kids stuff for the beach.

I would highly recommend a trip to Caldey Island, its absolutely stunning.
Also recommend mackerel and bait fishing trip.

Beautiful pub, The Cross Inn, lovely staff serving tasty food.

We will definitely be staying again!

Thanks so much Kevin,
Best wishes
Ann-Marie, Mark and George

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Location is beautiful 😍 fantastic views up onto the coastal path which is just over the road
Tenby only 30mins walk on track next to train track and more on coastal walk then drop down onto beach and walk in amazing
Bus and Trains to tenby, penbroke castle, Saundersfoot 5mins walk away
Two close pubs The cross inn and The overlander, very nice traditional dog friendly and nice food
The pitches are kept ok but you need levelling blocks
We had a hard standing and grass motorhome pitch
The you lad who showed us to our pitch was very friendly and helpful
Also the seasonal pitches people around us were so nice and friendly too

Disliked Very old toilet block needs up dating and cleaning
Although there is a selection of wooden blocks dotted around the campsite with newer showers and toilets in. They have good pressure and are hot with no button keep pressing 👍
But they could be cleaner 🤔

Road and train noise, we were next to the hedge on the bottom pitches and the road and trains are direct at the back of hedge
Although you don't hear them at night
So we did sleep ok

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Located close to Tenby, the beach was not far away and on good bus route.

Disliked Did not like the fast road that this site was located on, very noisy. I thought the old toilet block was dreadful and the new toilet block was even worse. You had 2 toilets/showers for a lot of people. Ran out of toilet paper & hand paper towels, no hand gel in the dispensers, lucky enough I took my own!! Was not cleaned often enough. That said some people are disgusting, they do not clean up after their selves. Someone had obviously trimmed their beard and left the sink covered in hair, could’nt be bothered to clean it up, brushing teeth in the kitchen area. I would not recommend or return to this site again.

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Friendliness of staff.

Disliked Toilets were lacking in quality, quantity and cleanliness- 3 toilets & 2 showers for ladies plus 2 unisex toilets/showers for the whole site. One sink was cracked and had been for a long time if the dirt in it was anything to go by.
There were no plugs for the sinks.
The backs of the toilet doors hadn't seen a cleaning cloth for sometime either.
The site was on a hill and backed onto a busy and noisy main road, plus the train tracks were on the other side of the busy road. Admittedly we should have checked before booking.

Local attractions

Tenby is a port of call for people wanting more than a paddle on the sea: boat trips will take you round the cliffs or out to spot the seals (pick a sunset cruise for marriage proposals, or just to be romantic) and to visit Caldey Island, a rocky nugget of peace, nature and history offshore where monks have been living since the sixth century (not the same ones, of course). To hit the beach, popular Saundersfoot and Pendine are 15 and 30 minutes' drive away, while surfers head for the big waves at Broad Haven and Newgale (40 and 50 minutes). The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is 186 miles long, but don’t feel you have to do it in a day; marked trails along the cliffs give you cracking views and plenty of opps for nature spotting everywhere you go. (A popular short stretch is the eight-miler from Tenby to the castle at Manorbier – and the pub.) Also in the area, Heatherton World of Activities (10 minutes) gets you zipping through the trees, climbing ropes and driving go-karts; Oakwood Theme Park (half an hour) has rides to thrill and spill your drinks over, and at Folly Farm (20 minutes), you can combine a traditional fairground jolly with meeting farm animals and exotic beasts.
