Penally Court Farm… a clifftop cracker. Sandy beaches, castles, coastal walks with spectacular views, colourful harbour towns – Pembrokeshire needs little introduction. But this little bit of it, in Penally just above Tenby, deserves more than simply introducing: ideally via fanfares, fireworks, a parade… But none of the above is needed on this peaceful family-run site. In lush green fields on the cliffs overlooking Tenby, it concentrates on simple, well-maintained facilities that don’t get in between you and the surrounds. You can park up where you stay, cook up alfresco feasts on barbecues, or take a three-minute stroll to a pub with grub in Penally. The village also has a shop for stocking up on basics; bigger stores and supermarkets are under 10 minutes' drive away in Tenby. Not that you’d only visit Tenby for baby wipes and beef burgers – it’s a handsome harbour town with pastel-hued houses, a castle, a fort (on an island) and lots of spots for eats and treats. And a cluster of beaches. The 20-minute walk into town is a terrific way to introduce yourselves to the area, or you could just run into the sea (five minutes’ walk from the site).

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Well maintained site, very friendly and helpful staff. The facilities were plentiful and in asy reach of the pitches. Staff were very informative of the local area and guided us to our pitch. Easy walking distance of Tenby and the coastal path is just over the road from the site.

A great site for exploring the Pembrokeshire Coast.

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Friendly, very helpful staff.
Very short walk to lovely pub and train station (4 minute journey to Tenby & 9 min to Saundersfoot), bus stop opposite site which run , 10 minute walk to beach & lots of lovely walks.
Site kept really tidy and grass cut regularly.
Pitches good size with plenty of water taps.
Showers clean and nice and hot.
Lots of lovely walks
Would like to thank Kev for going above and beyond with a ‘little’ repair job 😊

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Helpful staff and excellent location with a lovely walk into Tenby along the beach. Great location to access village pub. Campsite was neat and tidy with a scattering of toilet facilities in each field (toilet, sink and shower all in one unit) which were always clean and tidy during our stay.

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Location to public transport and pubs in a nice village.
The shower we used was private and not a press and hold shower
Good sized pitch and well maintained

Disliked Poor and insufficient facilities for a camp of this size. Facilities often lacked soap.
Noisy as it’s next to both a busy road and railway line meant poor sleep.
Too busy with more permanent caravans meant the place was overcrowded.
Most if not all pitches are on a slope.

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Close to nice village pub and nice walk to the beach but further than you think especially if walking with very young children /elderly etc
Nice views if you get a pitch higher up.

Disliked The road noise was awful especially first thing in the morning. We had to wait for cars to pass before we could hold a conversation . We were told to park next to the hedge, which has absolutely no view and is right next to a very busy road.
The site is definitely not cliff top as advertised which was disappointing.
Toilet blocks had horrible black mops in them which stood in buckets of black water. Really off putting and made me not want to use the facilities.
Also felt a little like a caravan storage unit due to high volume of permanent caravans not in use.

Great site - we will absolutely be back!!!

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Location is perfect. 10 mins walk to the beach. 25 min walk to Tenby.
Facilities were always clean and the showers were hot.
Friendly site manager who was great with everything we needed.
Fabulous pub a few minutes walk away with lovely food and friendly staff and locals.

Disliked Road noise disturbed some of our party. I was ok with it but if you are a light sleeper, it might be worth mentioning this when booking to have a pitch away from the road side of the park. Other than that, the site was perfect.

The lawn was mowed, but the sanitary facilities were awful.

Local attractions

Tenby is a port of call for people wanting more than a paddle on the sea: boat trips will take you round the cliffs or out to spot the seals (pick a sunset cruise for marriage proposals, or just to be romantic) and to visit Caldey Island, a rocky nugget of peace, nature and history offshore where monks have been living since the sixth century (not the same ones, of course). To hit the beach, popular Saundersfoot and Pendine are 15 and 30 minutes' drive away, while surfers head for the big waves at Broad Haven and Newgale (40 and 50 minutes). The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is 186 miles long, but don’t feel you have to do it in a day; marked trails along the cliffs give you cracking views and plenty of opps for nature spotting everywhere you go. (A popular short stretch is the eight-miler from Tenby to the castle at Manorbier – and the pub.) Also in the area, Heatherton World of Activities (10 minutes) gets you zipping through the trees, climbing ropes and driving go-karts; Oakwood Theme Park (half an hour) has rides to thrill and spill your drinks over, and at Folly Farm (20 minutes), you can combine a traditional fairground jolly with meeting farm animals and exotic beasts.
