  • Clifftop site a three-minute walk to the pub and 10 mins to the beach

  • Heatherton World of Activities 10 mins' drive; 20 mins to Folly Farm
Penally Court Farm… a clifftop cracker. Sandy beaches, castles, coastal walks with spectacular views, colourful harbour towns – Pembrokeshire needs little introduction. But this little bit of it, in Penally just above Tenby, deserves more than simply introducing: ideally via fanfares, fireworks, a parade… But none of the above is needed on this peaceful family-run site. In lush green fields on the cliffs overlooking Tenby, it concentrates on simple, well-maintained facilities that don’t get in between you and the surrounds. You can park up where you stay, cook up alfresco feasts on barbecues, or take a three-minute stroll to a pub with grub in Penally. The village also has a shop for stocking up on basics; bigger stores and supermarkets are under 10 minutes' drive away in Tenby. Not that you’d only visit Tenby for baby wipes and beef burgers – it’s a handsome harbour town with pastel-hued houses, a castle, a fort (on an island) and lots of spots for eats and treats… not to mention a cluster of fantastic beaches. The 20-minute walk into town is a terrific way to introduce yourselves to the area, or you could just run into the sea (five minutes’ walk from the site).

What customers say

This well-maintained campsite boasts a fantastic location, a short walk from the beach and Tenby, with excellent transport links. Staff are consistently praised for being friendly and helpful, often going the extra mile. Facilities, particularly the newer shower blocks, are generally clean and well-kept, though older blocks are noted as dated. Pitches are spacious, though many are on a slope. Road and train noise is occasionally mentioned, especially for lower pitches. A shop on-site would be a welcome addition for some.

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Really friendly greeting when we arrived. Everything was explained easily and we were given a choice of lovely pitches at the bottom of the site. The toilets& shower facilities were spotless. Booked a meal in the nearby Cross Inn which was very good. Walked into Tenby which took around 45mins but it was a pleasant walk.

Disliked Despite using chocs, Pitches are sloping which meant our fridge didn’t work but in fairness we could have chosen a flatter pitch within the area. We chose the view above the cold beer 😀

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Very convenient for Tenby and beyond thanks to the nearby railway. Toilets and showers are plentiful and clean. Lovely views across to the dunes. Two pubs are within easy walking distance

Disliked Site is more sloping than we expected, although we were offered deeper chocks than the ones we had. Our check-in felt a bit disorganised (we arrived on a Sunday)

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked The site was a nice size, friendly staff, really good location as right by the train station, bus stop or could easily walk into tenby. Beach nearby and a pub.
The only issue we had was that we were pitched up next to a very selfish group of people who decided to have a party up until 2am but the owners did have a word the next day and they did seem much quieter but we did also ask to move pitches which was fine so a big thanks to the owners for sorting
Could possibly do with some more toilets/showers but wasnt the end of the world
Would definitely stay again as its a great location.

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Reception staff really helpful , Jas could see we weren’t thrilled with our “allocated” spot and immediately found us an alternative. The site was well maintained and looked after, we saw regular cleaning of facilities taking place. Great public transport links with bus stop right outside the entrance and train station a few minutes walk away. Good size pitch with water close by and grounds well looked after. Plenty of space around the site especially as very busy. Even had a visit from an ice cream van!

Disliked Shower facilities are difficult, old block men’s side showers always cold, and husband stood outside new showers for over 30 minutes and gave up. The issue being toilet, changing area and shower all in one lockable cubicle which means people take longer, than separate areas like a lot of sites therefore should be more showers, toilets for size of site. Beach defo not 5 minutes walk away as in pitch up blurb a good 25 minutes walk to beach and also 45 min walk to Tenby centre not 20 but worth it as beach is stunning.

Electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Nice site. Clean. Large group near us very disrespectful left early evening & left behind a great pile of rubbbish it was quickly cleared away.
Great location to Tenby walking along beach or by bus.
Friendly & helpful staff
Pub in village lovely & the new Overlander across road good food

Disliked The pitches were on slopes even with blocks still not level.
Facilities were generally clean jut needs more toilet blocks. The field we were in had 2 blocks but they were shower & toilet units so had to wait or walk into other field if just needed the loo.

Local attractions

Tenby is a port of call for people wanting more than a paddle on the sea: boat trips will take you round the cliffs or out to spot the seals (pick a sunset cruise for marriage proposals, or just to be romantic) and to visit Caldey Island, a rocky nugget of peace, nature and history offshore where monks have been living since the sixth century (not the same ones, of course). To hit the beach, popular Saundersfoot and Pendine are 15 and 30 minutes' drive away, while surfers head for the big waves at Broad Haven and Newgale (40 and 50 minutes). The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path is 186 miles long, but don’t feel you have to do it in a day; marked trails along the cliffs give you cracking views and plenty of opps for nature spotting everywhere you go. (A popular short stretch is the eight-miler from Tenby to the castle at Manorbier – and the pub.) Also in the area, Heatherton World of Activities (10 minutes) gets you zipping through the trees, climbing ropes and driving go-karts, and at Folly Farm (20 minutes) you can combine a traditional fairground jolly with meeting farm animals and exotic beasts.
