  • Family-friendly site in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park
  • A half-hour drive to Cardigan boat trips and Folly Farm
  • Outdoor heated swimming pool, bar and restaurant on site
Peace, the Preseli Hills and an outdoor pool where you can watch the kids splash around from the comfort of the courtyard terrace… think you could handle some of that on your hols? If so, pitch up at family-friendly Trefach Holiday Park, minutes from the hills of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Trefach is a peaceful and secluded site in a remote location with scenic walks around the local countryside, but it’s within driving distance of loads of things to do too, like visiting the fishing villages and coastal towns of Tenby, Haverfordwest, Dinas Cross and Fishguard, tracking down some of the best views in Wales, or hitting Blue Flag beaches for watersports and lounging. On site, there’s a play area and games room to keep the kids entertained alongside the heated pool, and a clubhouse and bar-restaurant serving up seasonal entertainment and meals.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked We loved the quiet, tranquil surroundings. We loved the food, the service was very friendly throughout. Pool was great for the kids. Everything was spotless. No complaints!

Disliked Maybe update (or ditch?) the arcade, it’s quite dated.

The hosts were very accommodating. Pitched us next to friends but also considered we had a dog and put us in the shade :-)
Kids loved the swimming pool. Felt safe for children.

Disliked Shower/toilet block by our field was only open briefly for one day, had to use the other one which was both male/female and very busy in mornings.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked Lovely family campsite, owners are so friendly and can't do enough for you. Felt so welcome from the moment we got there. Swimming pool was fantastic for my 3 boys 3, 7 & 9. Perfect depth where the older two could go in and out on themselves and our toddler loved playing by the steps with all his sinky toys. Food was delicious. Will definitely be returning through the summer.

Electric grass tent pitch

Liked *How friendly and helpful all staff were.
*The shower blocks and toilets were very clean
* We camped as 3 separate family's we were all next to each other.
*Staff walk around at 22.30 to tell other people it's quiet time. When you have kids outside screaming playing and trying to settle little ones it's very helpful!
* Food options in cafe- lots to choose form
*The pool is nice, although cold
*The whole campsite is actually really nice
* Beautiful views
* It's not rough, lots of "normal families"

Disliked * the arcade room is very dated and only two machines worked
*The pool is un maned unsure how this would work in summer holidays when everyone would want to be in the pool
* Only one member of staff behind bar in cafe - they do work VERY hard and always polite I just think for them they need an extra pair of hands.
* The little park outside is nice but I think they could definitely benefit from making it bigger given the size of camp site.
*No WiFi except in cafe bar- I didnt mind this so much however for teenagers this could be disastrous
* Dogs at far end of site just before the' dog off lead field" appeared to be aggressive. They were closed off but I left the field because they made me feel uneasy. They do have a sign saying beware of dogs, but yeah not friendly at all be mindful of this.

Local attractions

You don’t have to stick to fishing villages while you’re at Trefach Holiday Park: several towns are within driving distance of the site and you can take part in festivals, traipse around farmers’ markets or empty your wallet in the shops while you’re there. Pembrokeshire’s arts and crafts capital, Narberth, is about 15 minutes’ drive from Trefach and the ruins of the Norman Narberth Castle lie just above the town. Slightly further afield, make the 30-minute trip to Cardigan for the National Wool Museum, New Quay Honey Farm and taking a boat out to dolphin-spot in Cardigan Bay. Pack a picnic for a day in the Preseli Hills: explore on two feet or from horseback, and take in the views towards the Irish coast in the west and the Brecon Beacons to the east. See if you can spot bluestones just like the ones that make up part of the inner circle of Stonehenge and ask yourself whether the stones at Stonehenge were really transported the 180 miles from here. For a fab family day out, try Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, less than 30 minutes from Trefach, where kids can visit the exotic animals in the zoo or get up close with the farm animals in the barn.
