Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park: Views of the site

General

  • Peaceful dog-friendly site at the foot of Snowdon
  • A 10 minute-drive from Caernarfon; hike to the Snowdon summit directly
  • Walking routes directly from the site; playground, games room and shop

Adventurous types, unite, and make your way to Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park in sweet, sweet Snowdonia. On the edge of the national park and within walking distance of Snowdon’s summit, this is the type of place where holidaymakers can hike from pitch to summit and back again in just a few hours.

It’s peaceful too, on the banks of the river Gwyrfai with views of the Snowdonia mountain range and the north Wales countryside. There are other walking routes directly from the site, good news for those with dogs or a lust for adventure.

One of the UK’s longest heritage railways, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways passes through the site on its 25-mile journey past the foot of Snowdon. You might want to board it yourself Caernarfon (10 minutes’ drive) and see if you can spot your patch of land as you pass by. That’s after you’ve experienced one of the boat trips that run along the Menai Strait from the quayside below Caernarfon Castle, of course.

There’s a very generous serving of facilities at Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park, from heated bathrooms and wifi to playgrounds and a games room. Your Snowdon packed lunch should be quite easy to sort too, since there’s a fully-stocked shop on site. At the foot of Snowdon, the pitches are spacious too, giving you plenty of opportunities to soak in the Snowdonia scenery.

This site is a member of North Wales Camping group.

The site was so much bigger than we expected. It was so clean and tidy. Plenty of facilities if the nearest were fully used. This site is a hidden gem, we will be returning next year for definite. Where we were pitched was perfect for water supply, access to the river and toilet block. Thank you guys for such an amazing holiday.

    Disliked:

My only concern is closing our toilet block for cleaning around 9.00 am. This is the busiest time so maybe cleaning could be around 11.00 for convenience.

From the manager...

Hi Joanne

Thank you for your great review. We agree the Park is certainly a hidden gem and we are so lucky to be able to live and work here.

The team work so hard to maintain the facilities on site. The cleaning team do close one block while cleaning but the others are open during this time.

We look forward to welcoming you back again to Bryn Gloch

    Some toilet was really dirty

From the manager...

Thank you for your great review. We agree the site is spectacular and the views are incredible. Our team here at Bryn Gloch work tirelessly to maintain the facilities, and the toilets are checked and cleaned throughout the day. It is frustrating when staff members return to a facility that has been cleaned to find they have to start again.

We look forward to your return visit to Bryn Gloch.

We loved everything about this campsite! It has been maintained to a very high standard. There are plenty of toilets and shower blocks which are cleaned daily. The showers were huge with hooks to hang bags and towels and a seat in each. The views at every angle were amazing. No matter where your pitch is, you'll have an excellent view and be a stones throw from the toilets. The campsite also has a launderette, TV room, games room and a small shop in Reception that sells most essential items. Staff were friendly and helpful.

    Disliked:

The only thing that I didn't like was the fact the nearest pub/eatery is a mile away. It is a small criticism but after a long day of hiking, it would be nice to eat/drink on site. There is a pizza van and chippy van that comes on certain nights of the week though. We had a brilliant stay and would definitely visit again and recommend it to others.

From the manager...

Thank you for your great review. We are delighted that you enjoyed the Park, and we agree that the view here are spectacular. We are also very proud of all our team who work so hard to maintain the standards on the Park.

As you may be aware the Park was purchased in May this year and we have a 5 year plan to improve the facilities on the Park.

We look forward to welcoming you back, where you will see the improvements as they happen

From the manager...

Thank you for your great review. We are so lucky to have the River Gwyrfai running through the Park here at Bryn Gloch.
We understand the frustration with the flying of flags, but the rule is in place to protect the views for all on site.

We look forward to welcoming you back.
