Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park: Views of the site

General

  • Peaceful dog-friendly site at the foot of Snowdon
  • A 10 minute-drive from Caernarfon; hike to the Snowdon summit directly
  • Walking routes directly from the site; playground, games room and shop

Adventurous types, unite, and make your way to Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park in sweet, sweet Snowdonia. On the edge of the national park and within walking distance of Snowdon’s summit, this is the type of place where holidaymakers can hike from pitch to summit and back again in just a few hours.

It’s peaceful too, on the banks of the river Gwyrfai with views of the Snowdonia mountain range and the north Wales countryside. There are other walking routes directly from the site, good news for those with dogs or a lust for adventure.

One of the UK’s longest heritage railways, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways passes through the site on its 25-mile journey past the foot of Snowdon. You might want to board it yourself Caernarfon (10 minutes’ drive) and see if you can spot your patch of land as you pass by. That’s after you’ve experienced one of the boat trips that run along the Menai Strait from the quayside below Caernarfon Castle, of course.

There’s a very generous serving of facilities at Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park, from heated bathrooms and wifi to playgrounds and a games room. Your Snowdon packed lunch should be quite easy to sort too, since there’s a fully-stocked shop on site. At the foot of Snowdon, the pitches are spacious too, giving you plenty of opportunities to soak in the Snowdonia scenery.

This site is a member of North Wales Camping group.

Fantastic picturesque location not too far from towns for supplies. Very clean and well maintained site with friendly non-intrusive staff. Pitches well spaced with plenty of room around them. Great wash facilities and toilets. Good to see they recycle as some sites dont. Great location for keen walkers with plenty of routes to walk from the site. Excellent wifi which meant we could watch our favourite programmes at night

    Disliked:

There was some heavy rain and the hardstanding got water logged and muddy could do with better drainage or larger stones to air water drainage and would be cleaner. The toilets and showers cleaned too early which meant having to walk about the site to locate open facilities at a time when most holidaymakers are just rising!

The pack of barking dogs in the middle of the night, really loud must have been in the surrounding property or farm but nonetheless irritating. Not the campsite fault but it did occur a few nights during our stay.

We only stayed for the night but it was pleasant stay, albeit it was very quiet on our field. The young girl on reception was very friendly and welcoming.
On the field we were, the facilities were in shepherd huts, each one containing its own toilet and shower, which were spotlessly clean and the shower hot and powerful.
Wi-Fi was strong on our pitch.

    Disliked:

    Nothing.

Everything was great, great facilities, lovely walks around, lovely helpful staff, scenic, clean, great playgrounds, quiet, bbq areas, close to cearnafon & surrounded by a gorgeous clear river.

    Disliked:

All pitches are pre allocated and situated on the path which cars drive on, which is fine but doesn’t give a true camping feel. You aren’t actually on a field. Some cars drive past quite fast, nearly got run over once, not camp site fault but peoples ignorance rather.

Very good facilities (shower, toilets etc.) on the campsite, stayed on a fully serviced pitch with electric hook up and water. Shop on site with essentials. Arrived late Friday and was able to utilise the fish and chip van on site. Beautiful views and nice walks from the site. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Quiet hours mostly observed. We have no children but the site had a number of play areas and activities. Great base to explore nearby towns and cities.

    Disliked:

Showers could be slightly improved with a partition between the toilet and shower area.
