  • Peaceful dog-friendly site with views of Eryri (Snowdonia)
  • On the banks of the river Gwyrfai; a 10 minute-drive from Caernarfon
  • Walking routes directly from the site; playground and games room
Adventurous types, unite, and make your way to Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park. This is the type of place where holidaymakers can hike all day long, and it's peaceful too, on the banks of the river Gwyrfai with views of the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountains and the north Wales countryside. There are walking routes directly from the site – good news for those with dogs or a lust for adventure. One of the UK’s longest heritage railways, the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, passes through the site on its 25-mile journey past the foot of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). You might want to board it yourself Caernarfon (10 minutes’ drive) and see if you can spot your patch of land as you pass by. That’s after you’ve experienced one of the boat trips that run along the Menai Strait from the quayside below Caernarfon Castle, of course. There’s a very generous serving of facilities at Bryn Gloch Caravan and Camping Park, from heated bathrooms and wifi to playgrounds and a games room. The pitches are spacious, giving you plenty of opportunities to soak in the scenery.

What customers say

This is a highly-rated, well-maintained campsite with stunning mountain and river views. Guests consistently praise the friendly and helpful staff, immaculate facilities, and spacious pitches. Amenities like the cocktail trailer, food vans, and children's play areas are popular. The location is ideal for exploring Snowdonia. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, a few mention occasional noise from larger groups or neighbouring farms, and limited shop stock. Problems such as waterlogged pitches during heavy rain or busy facilities during peak times have been noted, with managers confirming these issues are being addressed or are weather-dependent.

Electric grass pitch

Liked This place is fantastic, the location is easy access no narrow lanes to navigate getting here. Staff are friendly and welcoming, facilities are clean and well maintained we seen staff cleaning at least twice a day. The showers were hot and easy to use, and the washing area is great too. The pitch sizes are brilliant staff explained how to set up which makes sense especially for first timers and makes it fair for everyone. The Anglesey tipsy trailer was great you can pay a pound for a pint plastic cup so you can take the drinks back to your tent without spilling a drop, or there was benches next to the trailer. There are places for the kids to play also one by the tipsy trailer. There was a food trailer too we didn't use it but they were open for breakfast and evening meals. There is a shop onsite but it has a limited selection. You can't beat the views here very peaceful and relaxing. We will be back.

Electric grass pitch

Liked To be honest it was all great…
Can’t really fault it. The facilities were kept exceptionally clean the whole 6 days we were there. Plenty of staff, handy shop, tipsy trailer, kids parks, river, good spacious pitches, secure barrier, great location, beautiful backdrop. Everything you need from a campsite + more!

Disliked Could benefit with a larger or additional shower/ toilet and wash up block in field 3.

Upgrades to kids play parks could be worth a consideration (swings, roundabouts, bike track etc) “if I was being picky”

The usual dips and hollows on the pitch caused by vehicles which can’t really be avoided (I know) but they can be annoying when you’re told exactly where to pitch a tent on your pitch as the seem to land in the wrong place for your set up.
