  • Dog-friendly fly and coarse fishing site with well-stocked lakes
  • A five-minute drive to Llandegla and a mile from the Offa’s Dyke Path
  • Tackle shop, tackle hire, café and family fishing pool
Avid angler? Or just want to have a first go at fishing? Either way, Llandegla Trout and Coarse Fishery in Denbighshire is home to well-stocked pools suitable for pretty much everyone. And that’s really no exaggeration. This family-friendly site is dotted with lakes for all levels: opt for fly fishing in two trout pools stocked with rainbow, brown, tiger and gold trout, or give coarse fishing a go in a couple of bodies of water filled with mirror and common carp, barbel, tench, bream, roach, rudd and chub. There’s also a worm fishing lake and a family fishing area for an informal intro to the sport, plus the on-site tackle shop – with kit to hire – is a handy addition for amateur anglers. Fishing aside, the park’s location a mile from ambles along the Offa's Dyke Path makes it a brill base for mountain bikers and walkers. A bunch of other outdoor activities are also available in the area, including a shooting ground and a horse-riding centre within a five-minute drive. As for sustenance (all that activity is hungry work after all), a café is on site dishing up free-range breakfasts and fresh coffee for the mornings, with other dishes available including fresh and smoked trout sourced from the park. Prefer to rustle up your own grub? Barbecues are permitted on base.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch

Liked: Spacious well kept pitches and amenities. Given a map and told to park anywhere in certain areas. We arrived at 1pm so had a lot of choice. 5 well stocked pools. 2 coarse, 2 fly. 1 worm for trout. Very friendly manager/owner. He did a tour of the site on his buggy every evening to make sure everyone was ok. Facilities were spotless and regularly cleaned. Lovely little cafe in site with fresh local organic food. To eat in or take out. Own smoked trout available. Well stocked tackle shop with rods and nets for hire. Plenty of day visitors using lakes and dads/grandads teaching their own children. Dog friendly. And also allow fires and bbqs. Tables and Benches scattered around site to enjoy the views (whats not to like) highly recommend we have already booked another two weekends

Disliked: Very very minimal road noise. That dies down after tea time. Have stayed in site with more road noise. Not even a dislike tbh
