Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (adults only)

Liked We have just left after spending 2 nights here - this is our 2nd time visiting and will definitely coming back again!

When we arrived to check in we were told where to go to set up our tent. We were also informed that Friday night was Pizza night and that we could get breakfast butties on the Saturday morning.

We went and set up our tent and then went up to the bar for some drinks and a pizza - it was delicious!

The staff are all so helpful and attentive - the owner spends time coming and talking to everyone which is really nice!

The site is well looked after - the 2 showers are always nice and clean. On the tent pitches there is a portaloo which was fully stocked with loo roll and only a short walk away from the tents. Great size space for your car and tent - we were right next to the river too which was lovely and we could sit and watch the cows in the field across the way.

There is lots to do near by (including a lovely tea room - Elsies- just down the road but it is also a lovely place to just stay and relax by the river or at the bar.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked We loved Brook House Farm!!! From the moment we arrived Julia was so attentive to our every need, and made us feel truly welcome.
We were offered a choice of pitch and told not to be long getting into the bar as the Grand Prix was about to start…. The locals were extremely friendly and curious about Martha our MoHo, and very keen to find out why we were visiting them.
The Potting Shed should have a’hide your wallet’ sign as I defy any woman not to want something from there.
The facilities were adequate, clean and well maintained, for a site that is so young relatively speaking.
Clearly there is a massive potential at Brook House and we will not hesitate to return to see said progress.
Please don’t advertise this site as we want it for ourselves!!!!!
Many thanks for a great stay and the Sunday evening entertainment…..
Well done to you all.

Disliked Too much advertising as others will find out about this site.

Non-electric grass tent or trailer tent pitch (adults only)

Liked Amazing stay, non-electric pitch camping and had everything we needed. Use of the club house/cafe on site for charging electrics and breakfasts/drinks. Nice spot right on the river, toilets and shower clean and tidy. Relaxing vibe and anything we needed we was able to get some assistance at the club house. Really nice staff and the owner was super helpful. Also got some goods from the on site shop! will be returning again and recommended to family members anf friends

Lodge (double, no pets)

Liked Clean shower and toilet facilities. Great hosts- nothing was too much trouble. They even moved me into a different lodge on flat ground due to personal mobility issues without question. The cafe and bar onsite is s superb addition and their carrot cake is sublime!

Camping pod (no pets, two person)

Liked The friendliness of staff, the Pod was comfortably laid out, albeit the lamp flex was far too short to be able to bring the lamp close enough to the bed. Location was pleasant, next to some fields and footpath. The cafe/bar was welcome.

Disliked The lack of facilities - 2 showers just wasn't enough given how many were on the site. I wasn't impressed by what seemed a lack of organisation on part of staff. I was just handed a key & told where to locate my pod. Most places I've been to I've been escorted by staff & shown where everything is. There was no info in the Pod either especially what to do with the key at the end of my stay, what times staff were available and/or a number to contact them if problems arose. I had to find by myself where the washing up facility was & the drinking water. The toilet/shower cubicles were obvious, so no problem there. I left at 9am next morning - so not too early - but there was no-one at the shop/reception to take the key which made things difficult.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback ,sorry you felt that you were let down by staff,we do try are utmost to make customers enjoy there stay.
Sorry you were not escorted to your pod,has we were two staff down and the cafe/bar was very busy.
The cafe bar is open 9 till late at weekends and there is always someone on site except for Mondays. But if we have people arriving I always try to contact them.
Yes we do only have two showers but customers always comment on how lovely they are and hot water. We are just starting on the new extension.
Once again I apologise that things were not to your liking.

Local attractions

Lace up your walking boots: with Brook House Farm midway between Welshpool and Shropshire’s county town Shrewsbury, it’s a shrewd place to stop to see the Shropshire Hills and Mid Wales on an active family hol. Shropshire has over 3500 miles’ worth of right of way paths for longer distance hikes and shorter strolls; the 210-mile Severn Way passes along nearby for taking a hike along it on a day trip or stopping off at Brook Farm if you’re attempting it all. The Offa’s Dyke Path can be accessed from here too: the very helpful Brook House Farm owners can arrange a shuttle bus for you to join the trail if you let them know in advance. For less tired feet, a plethora of outdoor pursuits within easy reach of the farm includes horse riding, mountain biking and golf; paragliding and lessons are available at nearby Rodney’s Pillar and the Long Mynd. Land some slippery characters by casting off on the River Severn: Brook House’s own stretch of river yields barbel into double figures, but there are shoals of other nearby spots to land salmon, trout and grayling. There are some commercial fisheries within 20 minutes’ drive to thrash things out at too, such as Weston Pool near Oswestry. Once you’ve cleaned off your catch and soothed your sore feet, jump into the car for some historical highlights: the medieval fortress Powis Castle with its famous French and Italian garden; Shrewsbury Castle with the Shropshire Regimental Museum Trust; the Red Castle and Grotto Hill of the 18th-century Hawkstone Historic Park & Follies, and the town of Shrewsbury, with over 600 listed buildings.
