  • Clifftop site with stunning sea views out towards Cardigan Bay
  • Under 15 minutes' drive from Aberystwyth
  • Playground and games lounge on site; direct pebble beach access
What a stunning place: carve out as much time as you can to stay at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park, which is on a Ceredigion clifftop overlooking the stunning Cardigan Bay. As you'll see from the pics, spectacular sea views are all around here, so you can be basking among these Welsh coast views as soon as you arrive (barbecues are allowed for those who prefer to bask among coastal views while their other half preps the alfresco eats). Beach access is a cinch too, as the famed seaside resort of Aberystwyth is within six miles, and the park has direct access to its own pebble beach for shore walks, fishing, boating, rockpooling and surfing. There's loads of room for kids to run around at the park and on the beach; should they inexplicably tire of this, take them along to Morfa's pirate ship play area to swashbuckle and swing. The heated outdoor pool (open during high season only) and spacious grassy area alongside are other popular family spots, as is the games lounge with board and computer games, TV, pool tables and air hockey. The friendly team is on hand to help with whatever you might need, whether it's assistance in getting set up when you arrive or sharing their tips on the (many) top places to make for in the region. There's a stack of tourist info at the site reception to aid your decision-making further and give you something to read while your other half sorts out the coffee…

What customers say

Morfa Bychan boasts stunning sea views and spectacular sunsets, with many guests praising the friendly and helpful staff. The site is generally well-maintained and clean, with popular facilities including a swimming pool and playground. Pitches are spacious and many offer direct sea views. Some minor drawbacks include the narrow access road and dated shower blocks, though upgrades are underway. Despite occasional wind, guests find it a peaceful and relaxing escape.

From the manager: Hi Paul,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your stay with us.

We're pleased to hear that you enjoyed the cleanliness of the park, found our team helpful and made the most of the fantastic sea views and coastal walking routes. Our location is a favourite among guests who enjoy exploring the Ceredigion Coast Path and taking in the scenery straight from their pitch.

Thank you also for your constructive feedback. As a clifftop coastal park, we are naturally more exposed to the elements than inland locations and we always recommend that guests bring suitable equipment and secure awnings appropriately, particularly when sea breezes are forecast.

With regard to the pitch levels, our touring area is built on a natural slope to make the most of the spectacular sea views, and we would always advise guests to carry levelling chocks as part of their touring equipment. Many visitors find that the scenery more than makes up for the extra preparation required when setting up.

We also appreciate that our peaceful coastal location may feel a little remote for some guests. However, we do try to be as transparent as possible through our website, photographs, maps and reviews, and we would always encourage guests to do a little research before booking to ensure the park and its location are the right fit for the type of holiday they're looking for. Those seeking peace, tranquillity and stunning sea views tend to find Morfa Bychan exactly what they're looking for, while Aberystwyth and its many shops, restaurants and attractions remain only a short drive away.

Thank you again for your feedback. We appreciate both the positive comments and the helpful observations, and we hope to welcome you back to Morfa Bychan Holiday Park in the future.

Kind regards,

The Morfa Bychan Holiday Park Team

Liked Lovely campsite and beautiful coastal views. Great to have an indoor swimming pool.

Disliked Little to dislike although I thought the radio in the toilets was a bit much.

From the manager: Hi Rebecca,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your stay with us. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful coastal views and made good use of the indoor swimming pool during your visit.

We were especially pleased to read that there was very little to dislike about your stay. Although we must admit we're slightly surprised that the radio in the washrooms was enough to cost us those missing two points! We can only assume it was tuned to the wrong station during your visit. 😉

In all seriousness, the background music was introduced following feedback from many guests who felt it helped create a more pleasant atmosphere in the facilities, but we appreciate that everyone has different preferences and we're grateful for the feedback.

Thank you again for choosing Morfa Bychan Holiday Park. We hope to welcome you and your family back again soon for another relaxing stay by the sea.

Liked What a beautiful site! The facilities were immaculately clean and the staff so friendly and helpful. We were next to the play area which was great for our children, and the staff came round to remind everyone the park closed at nine, which we appreciated. The pool was another big hit for the family.
Only note I have (obviously nothing the site could control) but just an FYI for fellow happy campers that the wind can get strong and quite blustery, a small price to pay for the stunning views.

We look forward to retuning.

From the manager: Thank you, Emma, for your wonderful review and for choosing to stay with us at Morfa Bychan Holiday Park.

We're delighted to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay, especially our clean facilities, friendly team, play area and swimming pool. It's great to know that our staff's evening reminders helped everyone enjoy the park considerately, and that your children had such a fantastic time.

We also appreciate you mentioning the coastal breeze. As you say, it can occasionally be a little blustery, but we're glad the beautiful views made it worthwhile!

Thank you once again for your kind comments and recommendation. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back to Morfa Bychan Holiday Park for another memorable stay in the future.

Liked The most amazing view!!!
A lovely camp site with really nice staff. Swimming pool was great, not too cold and clean! Bathrooms were nice and clean. The facilities overall were great.

Disliked I loved our pitch but it was a bit close to the playground - lots of screaming kids. However they were all gone by 9pm thankfully. Showers could do with somewhere to put your stuff while your shower.

From the manager: Hi Jen,

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review following your stay with us.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the spectacular views, our swimming pool and the cleanliness of the facilities. The sunsets and sea views are certainly one of the things that make Morfa Bychan so special, and we're pleased they helped make your holiday memorable. It's also wonderful to know that our team made a positive impression during your visit.

Thank you as well for your constructive feedback regarding the location of your pitch and the shower facilities. As you visited during the summer holidays, the playground is naturally one of the busiest areas of the park and is very popular with families making the most of their holiday. We're pleased to hear that things settled down in the evening and that you were still able to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the park.

We also appreciate your comments regarding storage space in the showers. I'm pleased to say that our new washroom facilities, currently under construction, have been designed with guest feedback in mind and will include improved shower layouts with practical shelving, hooks and additional space for personal belongings. We hope these upgrades will provide a much more comfortable experience for our guests.

Thank you again for staying with us and for sharing your feedback. We hope to welcome you and your family back to Morfa Bychan Holiday Park again soon for another enjoyable seaside getaway.

Local attractions

The Wales Coast Path runs through the park and is easily accessible via kissing gates. The path runs for a whopping 870 miles from Chepstow in the south to Queensferry in the north: potter the few miles to Aberystwyth and then – for the energetic – hike further for 10 miles on the linked Ceredigion Coast Path to its finishing point at Ynyslas. Aberystwyth, 15 minutes' drive away, has stacks to do in and out of peak season, including a harbour to wander around, the National Library of Wales and the Aberystwyth Arts Centre for indoor days, and a buzzing nightlife with pubs, gigs and eateries aplenty. The same distance in the other direction will land you at Llanrhystud, a popular spot in summer for beaches, watersports and fishing. Nature spotting and birdwatching are easily accessed in the area too, either under your own steam or via a dolphin and seal safari trip around Cardigan Bay. Ensure your marine mammal sightings – recommended if you possess fractious offspring – with a trip to the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre at New Quay; boat trips can be booked from here too.
