  • Green rural getaway in Scotland's first Fairtrade town
  • Spectacular scenery and plenty of open space
  • Manicured landscape with spacious level pitches
Set on the outskirts of a small market town, Aberfeldy Caravan Park is a welcoming park surrounded by the oh-so-scenic Highland Perthshire. It's on the banks of the river Tay, so families, couples and solo travellers should all find the setting lovely and peaceful. This prime location means easy access to local attractions, whether it's visiting the historic Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery or scenic walks along the Birks of Aberfeldy (both within a short walk of the park). Once home to famed poet Robert Burns and made more popular still by its status as the first Fairtrade town on Scotland’s map, Aberfeldy also has shops, restaurants and pubs (all a short walk away) . You’ve picked the right spot too if you're after a green and rural getaway: the handsomely manicured grounds and garden here provide spacious and level pitches at the park, all accessible by a clearly marked path. Then take a step through the gate on to the footpath that runs between the site and the River Tay and you’re slap bang in peaceful Scottish countryside. When you’re not admiring the view of the river or the Strath Tay landscape thick with hillsides and trees from your pitch (it’s enough to make anyone come over all poetic), the kids should like the open space in which to run around and the well-equipped play area on site. The site has clean shower and toilet facilities and a laundry service, along with other handy amenities, and you can bring your pup along for a plentiful helping of Scottish air too.

What customers say

This is a well-maintained, clean, and friendly campsite with an excellent location, just a short walk from Aberfeldy town centre, shops, and restaurants. Visitors praised the proximity to the river, offering lovely walks, and the convenient access to local amenities and attractions. While the majority of reviews highlight the clean and adequate facilities, including good hot water and showers, some mention the toilet and shower blocks are a little dated. The pay-as-you-go electric system was a point of contention for some, with others finding it straightforward. A small number of reviews noted overcrowding and noise, particularly from other campers, impacting their experience. Overall, the site is recommended for its location and cleanliness.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked The location, the riverside walk directly from the site and a very short walk into the town with plenty of shops, cafes etc.
despite being very busy, the site still felt peaceful and quiet. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming.

Disliked The smaller toilet block was very clean when I arrived but not by the time I left! More regular upkeep and cleaning of the facilities would be appreciated.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked The village itself is within walking distance with a variety of restaurants, a Chinese takeaway, pubs and chip shop. Nice walk up to the waterfall.

Disliked Finding our pitch was a challenge, and unfortunately, the warden was astonishingly rude when we asked for directions. Between the abrasive staff and the cluttered state of the site, we certainly wouldn't recommend this location for a relaxing break. The site felt quite cluttered and poorly maintained during our stay. Common areas were strewn with toys and bikes, making it feel more like a busy housing estate than a managed campsite. We found the lack of tidiness and organisation disappointing, and for £40/night for a grass only pitch without ehu, we feel it is not value for money. Luckily it was an overnight stay as I couldn't wait to get away in the morning.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Disliked Nichts 😊

Liked Ideal location for hiking and trail walking. Fantastic restaurant INTI in the town, and the nearby golf club is very welcoming with a good selection of drinks and bar food. The on-site staff are very helpful, and there is an on-site shop if you need certain caravan-related products. There is good free WiFi on-site.

Disliked The shower blocks need to be updated, and the connections to the mains electricity are not clear, so it's best to seek advice if in doubt. The electricity charges are very expensive.

Local attractions

The historic Dewar’s World of Whisky distillery is within handy walking distance from the site for tipples, tours and your fill of liquor heritage. The vibrant highland town of Aberfeldy, for shoppers and lovers of all things organic, is a 10-minute walk away in one direction: get your caddy in tow if going here too, because in the other direction is a golf course within walking distance. If you're a hill walker, join the footpath along the River Tay straight from the site which leads to an array of walking challenges; from a stroll (via a pub, naturally) or a hike up some of the landscape’s more demanding routes: the view at the end (and all the way along, in fact) will be well worth it… Cyclists and mountain bikers have a fair bit of varying terrain to try out in the area, from the old railway path along the Rob Roy Way linking Aberfeldy and Grandtully gently taking in the sites of the area that inspired Robert Burns, to the steady climb of Castle Dow and other steeper tracks.
