  • Green rural getaway in Scotland's first Fairtrade town
  • Spectacular scenery and plenty of open space
  • Manicured landscape with spacious level pitches
Set on the outskirts of a small market town, Aberfeldy Caravan Park is a welcoming park surrounded by the oh-so-scenic Highland Perthshire. It's on the banks of the river Tay, so families, couples and solo travellers should all find the setting lovely and peaceful. This prime location means easy access to local attractions, whether it's visiting the historic Dewar's Aberfeldy Distillery or scenic walks along the Birks of Aberfeldy (both within a short walk of the park). Once home to famed poet Robert Burns and made more popular still by its status as the first Fairtrade town on Scotland’s map, Aberfeldy also has shops, restaurants and pubs (all a short walk away) . You’ve picked the right spot too if you're after a green and rural getaway: the handsomely manicured grounds and garden here provide spacious and level pitches at the park, all accessible by a clearly marked path. Then take a step through the gate on to the footpath that runs between the site and the River Tay and you’re slap bang in peaceful Scottish countryside. When you’re not admiring the view of the river or the Strath Tay landscape thick with hillsides and trees from your pitch (it’s enough to make anyone come over all poetic), the kids should like the open space in which to run around and the well-equipped play area on site. The site has clean shower and toilet facilities and a laundry service, along with other handy amenities, and you can bring your pup along for a plentiful helping of Scottish air too.

What customers say

This well-located site offers spacious, clean pitches and friendly staff, just a short walk from Aberfeldy's shops and restaurants. While facilities are generally clean and functional, some guests noted they are dated and could benefit from more frequent cleaning. The electricity payment system via app has received mixed reviews, with some finding it tricky. Noise from other campers and the nearby road has been a concern for some visitors.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked Great site, friendly staff, pitches with plenty space, dog friendly and close to local eating places.

Disliked We were unfortunate to have some rowdy neighbours who had a marquee set up some event. They weren’t very considerate of others into the night. Although this was out with campsite control. I’m sure if we’d complained something would have been done.

Can see the site's potential, think we were unlucky with co-campers.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Very good location with the village only a few minutes down the road.
Shower/toilet facilities very nice and clean.
Reception staff lovely, I hadn't received the email and they were really nice and helpful!
Very few midges / bugs which was a nice comparison to some of the other areas we'd been staying at. Also had lots of ducks just wandering around the site which was nice to see.
Whilst we don't have children, there was a little play park on site which I think is a nice touch.

Disliked Allocated a set pitch - I can understand why this may be done from the owners perspective but meant we couldn't choose somewhere and we ended up near really noisy groups. Supposed to be quiet hours after 11pm, absolute quiet after 12am but several groups around us were still being extremely loud outside their tents until meaely 1am. One person decided to empty their glass recycling at about 11:30pm several times. Another group further away were singing very loudly. The campers in the pitch next to us didn't arrive until around 10:00pm-10:30pm. Just lots of different noises constantly happening which meant we didn't get a good night's sleep on our final night.
Not much the site can do if people aren't respecting the rules but maybe they could have different areas for different types of campers?
Also, the view of River Tay could only be accessed by what seemed like long-term seasonal pitches of caravans and we couldn't get to it without going into their space so we missed out there.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Convenient location right by Aberfeldy with shops just a few minutes walk away. Having lots of picnic tables by the tents was good. Enjoyed the on-site ducks.

Disliked Had 2 really poor nights' sleep due to how close together the tents are packed, and people getting back from town at 2am. Could even enjoy the sounds of a late night bar in town from our tent.
Right on a road with quite a few loud cars driving past late in the evening too.
Toilets & showers pretty poor with blocked drains and very cramped cubicles. Really weird having the radio on in the toilet too, don't want to hear adverts and news when I'm camping.
Picnic benches were badly in need of a clean and re-paint.
Any nice view of the river is blocked by loads of mostly empty semi-permanent caravans.
5pm deadline for check-in is very awkward on a Friday evening.
Not even that cheap for a tent+car pitch w/o electric, not really sure where the money's going.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked Arrival was so easy - just drove straight into pitch number which was clearly labelled. Everything was very clean and well maintained.

Disliked Not the sights fault but the tent next to us had a row just after midnight and were up packing away - still bickering - at 6am. So it wasn’t quite the quiet night we were hoping for!

Local attractions

The historic Dewar’s World of Whisky distillery is within handy walking distance from the site for tipples, tours and your fill of liquor heritage. The vibrant highland town of Aberfeldy, for shoppers and lovers of all things organic, is a 10-minute walk away in one direction: get your caddy in tow if going here too, because in the other direction is a golf course within walking distance. If you're a hill walker, join the footpath along the River Tay straight from the site which leads to an array of walking challenges; from a stroll (via a pub, naturally) or a hike up some of the landscape’s more demanding routes: the view at the end (and all the way along, in fact) will be well worth it… Cyclists and mountain bikers have a fair bit of varying terrain to try out in the area, from the old railway path along the Rob Roy Way linking Aberfeldy and Grandtully gently taking in the sites of the area that inspired Robert Burns, to the steady climb of Castle Dow and other steeper tracks.
