Liked: Local village and facilities

Disliked: Walked into reception office and it stank of cigarette smoke.

Interpersonal skills from the guy in the office were poor.

No explanation of the the EHC. Had to use app and pay £5 upfront even though I used 50p and may never use app again. And I'd paid for a full hookup.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked: Lovely well kept grounds, great location next to river and only 10 minutes from the town.
Level pitches, play park for any kids and a football field. Nice river trail starts from the park.

Disliked: One portacabin toilet for both male and female, need another small block at that end of the park or at least another portacabin so have male and female ones.
Toilet block- decor a bit outdated, shower flooded the shower cubicle and toilet area, so glad hadn't put anything on the ground.
Electricity- very surprised this was over and above the pitch price. Added £15 for 2 nights.
Entrance gate - no staff after 5pm on a Friday, had find the lock box then inlock a padlock to get in. Think need an electric gate, most other sites have this if no staff after hours.
Price - most expensive site we have ever stayed at (including the additional cost for electricity), stayed at much better for a lot less with much more facilities I.e. pool, spa etc.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Location

Disliked: Antisocial behaviour of other campers. Woken on two nights of a three night stay, by other campers, as late as 2am.
Site allows late entry for those who have booked in advance and does little to prevent or manage antisocial camping with no staff on site after 5pm.
No point staying if you can’t get much sleep.

Electric optional grass touring pitch

Liked: Great friendly clean quiet site . A lovely walk with the dogs following the river. We were late arrival, the staff were very friendly and informative.
The toilet and shower blocks clean.

Disliked: Having to pay separately for the electric considering the cost for the pitch. However, this didn't dampen our stay.

Non-electric grass tent pitch

Liked: Enjoyed the camping stay. Lovely place and friendly staff. Clean bathrooms, nice restaurants around as well.

Disliked: Perhaps more toilet facilities around the campsite. There was only 1 toilet where our pitch was, and there were around 20 other pitches that shared the same toilet.. which meant more waiting time.

Local attractions

The historic Dewar’s World of Whisky distillery is within handy walking distance from the site for tipples, tours and your fill of liquor heritage. The vibrant highland town of Aberfeldy, for shoppers and lovers of all things organic, is a 10-minute walk away in one direction: get your caddy in tow if going here too, because in the other direction is a golf course within walking distance. If you're a hill walker, join the footpath along the River Tay straight from the site which leads to an array of walking challenges; from a stroll (via a pub, naturally) or a hike up some of the landscape’s more demanding routes: the view at the end (and all the way along, in fact) will be well worth it… Cyclists and mountain bikers have a fair bit of varying terrain to try out in the area, from the old railway path along the Rob Roy Way linking Aberfeldy and Grandtully gently taking in the sites of the area that inspired Robert Burns, to the steady climb of Castle Dow and other steeper tracks.
