  • Friendly adults-only site with views over the Firth of Forth estuary
  • A five-minute drive from the coast and 20 minutes from St Andrews
  • On-site restaurant with homecooked food; good public transport links
Aiming to get away to the scenic East Neuk of Fife or St Andrews’ home of golf? With views over the Firth of Forth estuary, Monturpie Caravan Park might fit the bill nicely. This family-owned adults-only site is just five minutes’ drive from Scotland's east coast (including the Fife Coastal Path), with the university town of St Andrews 20 minutes’ drive to the north. A friendly atmosphere runs freely here and pitches are well spaced out to provide plenty of peace. For more homely vibes, you’ll have the option of sampling homecooked food and baked goods in the site’s small licensed restaurant (open from Wednesday to Saturday between late morning and mid-afternoon). Other facilities include a heated toilet, shower block and a launderette with disabled facilities. Public transport’s a champ here, as links from the site entrance include express coaches to Edinburgh and Glasgow or local buses to nearby walking havens. Of course, Fife is a mecca for golf fans too and this area doesn’t disappoint, as there are a couple of golf courses five minutes’ drive away. When you feel like just letting your feet take you somewhere instead, the local village is 10 minutes’ walk away. It’s home to a small food shop and a popular hotel with quality meals (yes please, steak night and Sunday roasts). Foodie spots pull through elsewhere too, as there are a number of good-quality restaurants a short drive away, including a Michelin-starred place.

What customers say

This adult-only site offers stunning sea views, spacious pitches, and a peaceful atmosphere. Guests frequently praise the friendly and helpful owners, the cleanliness of the facilities (especially toilets and showers), and the delicious on-site cafe with home baking. While generally well-maintained, some mention ongoing improvements and a "farm-like" or "work in progress" feel in certain areas. It's a popular choice for exploring the East Neuk of Fife.

Liked Tolle Aussicht, nette hilfsbereite andere Camper und schöne Selbstverpflegungsstelle. Selbst ein Föhn wäre in den Sanitäranlagen der Damen gewesen. Duschen waren etwas heiß.

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Loved it. So relaxing and everything just had that ‘easy’ vibe. Only 2 hours from home so a definite for future overnighters. Great pub just down the hill.

Disliked Just a wee tip. Maybe put a sign down at the locked gate where the B&B sign is to direct people back to the village and up the hill. We directed several lost souls as we had previously made the same mistake and ended up driving through small country lanes to get back. Sat Nav mistake I might add.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Arlene , Glad that you are planning a return visit and that you found it a lovely visit . As you have stated sat nav can get it wrong !
Regards Duncan

Fully-serviced gravel and hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Site is very spacious and clean. Fully serviced pitches are top class. Toilets and shower block is very clean. Information hub is excellent. Home baking is available for sale in the information hub and is based on payment via the honesty box. Restaurant on site is great. The site is very quiet. The owner and all staff are really friendly and provide top class customer service. The on-site apartments are stunning, all finished to a very high standard.

Disliked These are very minor dislikes but could enhance the customer’s experience,
As there is no reception and if it’s your first time visiting the site then it can. Confusing. A map of the area would identify where the types of pitch are located as this would allow you to drive directly to the area you booked. However, we were greeted at the entrance by the owner who directed us to a pitch that suited our needs, such as views of the area and lots of sunshine.

From the manager: Hi Rab , Many thanks for your very detailed review and I fully appreciate your comments . Glad that you found everything satisfactory especially sampling the lovely home bakes and food supplied at tea room . I take on board comments site map etc and will work towards providing this . As site has varying types of pitches on offer sometimes it is necessary to await arrivals to determine which pitch suits their needs . We have no knowledge whether twin axle ,tent box etc will arrive and whether we have been notified if proximity to toilet block is essential therefore at times a personal greet is beneficial to all . Thanks again for your review and appreciate your thoughts .
Regards Duncan

Local attractions

So, St Andrews (20 minutes’ drive) has caught your eye, but where will you descend upon first? Golf games don’t get much more historic than the Old Course (20 minutes) and those of you who are fully into your golfing lifestyle might want to peep into the golf museum in the town. Perhaps Craigtoun Country Park (20 minutes) might be your cup of tea, especially for picnics, playgrounds and walking trails. And how about somewhere a little more remote? The walking trails at Lomond Hills Regional Park (35 minutes) or Loch Leven (50 minutes) are a good shout for relaxation. You’ll get to go wildlife spotting at the same time, especially since Loch Leven is a nature reserve (and many of the trails are cycle-friendly so you can cover plenty of ground). Scotland’s Secret Bunker (15 minutes) is certainly pretty underground, in the literal sense too, as this Cold War bunker has been turned into a museum. And for another historic hidey hole, you'll want to head to Kellie Castle (15 minutes) for its arts and crafts garden and exhibitions.
