From the manager: Thank you for your review, glad you enjoyed the animals. I'm sorry to read you disliked how basic the site is, we don't advertise as anything else, we are a small quiet site with 2 working toilets, shower and washing up area, we are a site where you have the opportunity to meet all our animals, see the beautiful scenery, enjoy the river and enjoy the many fantastic walks just outside camp.

Liked: Great little site and good size pitches. Nice view across the farm and over the hills, and we were entertained by the very friendly chicken climbing into our van. Almost took it with us as it managed to make it into the garage without me looking!
Disliked: If you're on the EHU pitches the road can be quite noisy at times. It did get quieter into the evening.

Liked: This site is a credit to the young family that own and run it. great value for money and the pitches are very generous in size. The location and views are spectacular. Having the sheep, goats, pigs and chickens is a bonus. Also you are encouraged to go in with the animals even with a dog ( on a lead!) To walk along the river which is very pretty.
A very no fuss enjoyable site.

Liked: We liked the friendly welcome, the spaciousness of the pitch and site, all the farm animals doing their thing in the next field (part of the same site), the chance to have a fire - all just very easy and relaxed.
Disliked: A suggestion rather than a dislike: toilet paper and paper towels ran out overnight. I'm sure the proprietors would have happily sorted it but obviously nobody wanted to wake them up early in the rain.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, glad you enjoyed your stay, there is always someone up and about at 7am checking the toilets and letting the animals out, we will try and make sure they are checked and stocked earlier, hope to see you again.

Non-electric grass pitch
Liked: Everything on site, nice that it is reasonably small so quite quiet. good sized pitches in a peaceful setting, campfires allowed, kids loved the farm animals. Nice and simple camping. Everything you need is just a short drive to Langholm. Good base for exploring hadrians wall or nearby castles. Other reviews complain about the road noise or river or facilities, but these weren’t an issue at all for us. Will definitely stay again.
