Wee Bivvy non-electric grass tent pitch (two person)
Liked: We stayed overnight onroute to the NC500. It was a pleasant quiet stop to relax in preparation for the next leg of our journey. The site was well presented and the owners were welcoming and informative. The hook up and WiFi worked without any problems and the facilities suited our needs. This is a hidden gem for those who want to be away from the hustle and bustle but near enough to places to visit.
Disliked: An Observation only: The site has no hard stands and so shoes for wet weather may be required.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review, it is much appreciated! We hope you travel on to have an enjoyable trip around the NC500- the scenery is beautiful! A less known circuit is the NE250, which takes in the Cairngorms, and is slightly quieter in the main holiday season, so worth considering if and when in the area again! Reference hard standing- we have a serviced hard standing pitch adjacent to the Pavilion. Elsewhere, we keep the grass well-trimmed for visitors, but in the early part of the year, we keep it a little longer to protect it and help it get a good start to last the full season. Although the East Coast of Scotland is the driest part of the Country, as you say, footwear suitable for the Season is advisable! We are open all year and do see snow at times in the Winter months! Electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked: Sheltered from the wind
Disliked: Poor old toilets and showers

From the manager: Welcome to the 1% club Claire! We're sorry you didn't enjoy your stay at Planet Balthangie, however, we understand our style is not for everyone. The 'tired old toilets' are sometimes misunderstood by the odd visitor- We create the 1950's feel here, albeit with a few mod cons such as the power showers, wet rooms and hairdryers supplied. Facilities include our fully serviced pitches, farm walks, secure dog exercise area, our famous 1st World War Pavilion, with TV lounge, library area, pool, table tennis, table football, and our kitchen- kitted out with microwave, kettles, toaster and washing machine & tumble dryer- all inclusive for only £28 a night.(ex laundry costs of course, but without those annoying 'extra' charges for awnings, dogs and/or children etc). All that said, we will continue to strive to provide the best service and welcome to all our guests both now and in the future! Although we'll never see you again here, we wish you both safe travels and enjoyable stays elsewhere in the future. :) J&A

Electric grass motorhome pitch
Liked: Everything, arrival times being super flexible and lots of instructions to help with everything. Added extras of campers kitchen. Offer of laundry being done by owner as water supply was switched off outside due to cold weather. Sale of eggs. Helpfulness of owner with immediate response.
Disliked: No hard standing for motorhomes and as it was damp underfoot it made for a bit of an extra effort to leave the pitch.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review! It is very much appreciated and we're so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. As of March our full toilet block, showers, and laundry/kitchen are now fully open for the Summer! Hope to see you again sometime, all the best J&A.

Wee Bivvy non-electric grass tent pitch (two person)
Liked: The chilled out environment, access to the little kitchen and washers/dryers. Pitch was fairly flat and the grass was well kept throughout. Host was very friendly.
Disliked: The hot water tank was very small for the showers, I had to have two cold showers post busy days adventuring.

From the manager: Thank you Robert for your great review- sorry you had to experience a cold shower! There is the electric shower room, where hot water is constant, although it's rare the main showers run out of hot water since we expanded the water capacity this year. Hopefully, there wasn't a problem at the time- we'll check that, of course, to make sure all is working efficiently- we don't want to be in hot water ourselves..... :) Safe travels in the meantime! Wee Bivvy non-electric grass tent pitch (two person)
Liked: We have camped in many places and this is one of our favourite places by far. We absolutely loved the space & peacefulness of this campsite. The owners are lovely, helpful people and you can really see the effort they put into the site. The campsite has everything you need for a comfortable stay- the old school style of the amenities block is wonderful and the dog field is such a great addition! It is also a really good base for exploring Aberdeenshire's beautiful coastline. We had a great time and will definitely be back in the future!
Disliked: Nothing! (We did have people encroach on our pitch despite there being plenty of space for them to choose from but this is no fault of the owners and we just got on with our weekend)

From the manager: Thank you Sheree for a lovely review, it is much appreciated and It will be lovely to see you again! Hopefully, no one will encroach next visit, but if they do let us know and we'll gently nudge them into the plentiful space here! :) J&A
