The site’s particularly well placed for countryside jaunts – it’s a peaceful 25-minute ramble from here into the centre of Glastonbury, where guests can head out for hikes along the famed Monarch’s Way all the way to Wells. If that’s too lengthy, opt instead for clambering up Glastonbury Tor – it’s less than 15 minutes’ walk to the base, then a relatively easy climb to the top for cracking views over the Somerset Levels. More? Take explores further afield with wanders into the pretty Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where the oh-so-scenic Cheddar Gorge is already posing for photos, and sub-surface explores await at Wookey Hole caves. There's no need to trek that far for lovely vistas though… Views of Glasto Tor and the Somerset Levels can be had from the pitches, making evenings spent unwinding a proper visual treat. Settle in with a home-cooked meal – prepped in the basic shared guest kitchen, with fridge-freezer, microwave and kettle – then wash off the remains of the day in the shower block, where underfloor heating keeps toes warm even on chillier days.

Liked Very nice small site , well maintained and everywhere clean . Owner was friendly and welcoming , offered any advice we needed on local area . Very exact arrival instructions given to avoid going down narrow lanes nearby .

Disliked Only a small thing just the look of the solar panels spoiling the view of Tor .

Liked Lovely quiet campsite with friendly host and good sized pitch. Ours was an end pitch which meant we had a hedge providing privacy when we sat outside. Can easily walk to the Tor and also a 20 minute walk into Glastonbury.

Disliked Toilets are old fashioned.
Not the campsite fault but the drumming from the tor was until 11:30pm & road traffic is loud. Again, not the fault of the campsite however to be considered.

Liked Spotlessly clean and well kept and felt very secure and safe have recommended it to a women’s solo camping group for this reason

We were only on a one-night stopover and used the bus stop down the road to the right (kind of where the road splits in two , near the speed camera ) to get the community Tor bus to get into Glastonbury - driver was fab and dropped us back at the bottom of the drive on the way back - £5 return adult £2.50 for a child but it’s also walkable although I’d take the sites advice and not walk the main road as it’s quite busy and path is narrow

My husband walked up to the Tor twice with the dog following the sites instructions - a good walk very enjoyable

Facilities lovely , nice hot showers and all very clean , there’s a kettle and microwave and inside washing up , making it ideal for all weathers

Liked Great location to walk into town. Only 12 minutes. The main road is busy and the verge is overgrown but there is a back road you can take which runs behind the site.
The owners were lovely. Very welcoming and helpful.
The site only holds 5 motorhome pitches and was very quiet and peaceful during our stay.
It's a 10 minute walk to Glastonbury Micro Brewery with a great selection of beers and the option to purchase drinks to sample on the premises.
Beautiful view of the Tor above the campsite and access to a side path that takes you to the top which is a quieter route than the main path from town.

Disliked The toilet, shower and washing-up facilities are fit for purpose but they are shared between the Motorhome field and the Tent field. There is the potential for it to get busy if both fields are full (the Tent field was only half full when we visited so we had absolutely no problems and didn't have to wait once to use any of the facilities)

There are shops, pubs and restaurants to tick off while there, too, but if you take your shopping more seriously, outlet shopping centre Clarks Village is 10 minutes' drive away in Street. RSPB Ham Wall (15 minutes' drive) is a fine choice for birdwatchers; those who seek a bit more firepower can transport themselves to Fleet Air Arm Museum (20 minutes) or Haynes International Motor Museum (25 minutes) for collections of aircraft, cars and motorbikes. A taste of the West Country’s fave tipple – cider, of course – can be had by sampling the offerings at Wilkins Cider Farm (20 minutes) and Somerset Cider Brandy Company and Burrow Hill Cider (35 minutes), then stocking up on supplies for evenings by the barbie. For kid-friendly days, pile into the car with a picnic and get close to lions, tigers and monkeys at Longleat Safari Park – really close if you opt for the VIP safari tours and feeding experiences – or join the thrill-seekers at Brean Theme Park and Brean Splash Waterpark (all 40 minutes).
