What customers say

This is a peaceful, well-kept campsite with spacious hardstanding pitches offering easy access to water and waste disposal. Its excellent location provides convenient bus access to Bristol and Bath, and proximity to Avon Valley Adventure Park. While many praise the quiet surroundings and friendly owner, some reviews mention that the toilet facilities are basic and require cleaning and updating, a point the manager acknowledges and plans to address. Train and occasional farm noise are noted but generally not disruptive.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (members only)

Liked It was only 10 minutes walk to the main road with easy access to the bus, great for visiting Bristol and Bath.
Well spaced pitches with hard standing.

Disliked Toilets weren't the best, although the floors were freshly painted it would benefit from a deep clean.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (members only)

Liked The proximity to the Avon Valley Adventure Park is brilliant.
The road traffic was quiet, it was nice to see the sheep close by.

Disliked Lots of weeds, nettles, the sites feels a bit run down. The lid for the chemical waste was a bit hazardous and felt like it was about to collapse, toilets basic.
Needs a grey waste point to be totally self contained.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your comment. I have got someone to come in and fix the lid of the chemical waste point - thank you for pointing that out. Sorry that you won’t come again.

Liked Quiet

Disliked Very basic and the only two toilets were dirty

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for your comment. The site is well represented online with the facilities all listed. My apologies that the lavatories were dirty. They are kept as clean as I can but we did have some issues with flooding in June/July.

Excellent site, for a quick overnight stop mid journey.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch (members only)

Liked The peace and quiet, wasn't disturbed by another soul.

Disliked The unexpected trains that flew past randomly. No toilet/shower facilities.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your comment. Although we don’t have showers we do have lavatories on site, which I know have received bad press in the past. They are clean and functional but they are not the Ritz! Many thanks for staying with us!

Local attractions

You won't need to travel far to get started on the outings and activities – it’s only a few minutes' walk to the Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park, to meet farm animals, walk among (animatronic) dinosaurs and enjoy the play areas and rides. If that's not your style, you can instead stroll to Active Outdoors for paddleboarding, archery and axe throwing, among other activities. Further chances to exercise your competitive streak are close by at Stockwood Vale Golf Club or Congo Falls Adventure Golf (both 10 minutes’ drive). If you’d rather take in the scenery, there are plenty of paths around for walks and bike rides, and Avon Riverside station is 10 minutes’ drive away for heritage rides on the Avon Valley Railway. Although the rural offerings are great, so are the nearby cities. Both Bristol and Bath are easy to get to by bus or train – choose Bristol for the SS Great Britain, M Shed, Bristol Aquarium and We The Curious, or head to Bath for a historic stroll around the Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey and Roman Baths.
