  • Well-kept family-friendly Dorset site 10 minutes’ drive from Wareham
  • Monkey World 10 minutes’ drive and Studland Bay 25 minutes
  • Electric hook-ups and hot showers; pubs and shops 10 minutes’ drive
Whatever your reason to head for the West County – beach holidays, family sightseeing, walking or watersports – Mill Paddock Campsite has got all bases covered. This small site is around 10 minutes’ drive from Jurassic Coast beaches and Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre; it’s also right by the Purbeck Way, and only a short stroll from paddleboarding adventures along the River Frome. With no designated pitches, you can set up wherever you like on the level, well-maintained and family-friendly camping field, which has electric hook-ups and water points dotted around its perimeter. The modern facilities block houses showers, toilets and washing-up sinks – it’s cleaned regularly and there’s always plenty of hot water. There are mature trees edging the field if you’re after shade, picnic tables are provided for alfresco dining and firepits are welcome so you can all gather around and enjoy being together. Logs are available to purchase on site at a low price, and pretty everything you need for outdoor evenings can be found in the shops, pubs and restaurants of Wareham (10 minutes’ drive). Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join in all the family fun, and guest numbers are always limited so the field never feels overcrowded; this also allows a safe environment for children to play in – and there’s a treehouse for them to muck around in too.

Liked A perfect stop over.
Welcome greeting and given a choice of the few remaining pitches.
Great location for exploring the Jurassic coast.
Despite mid summer holidays and lots of families, very quiet.
Facilities all clean. Recycling facilities.
Happy to have well behaved dogs.
Would definitely recommend.

Electric optional grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked Lovely stay. Is a really nice campsite. Paul was so friendly and helpful. He really did go above and beyond

Disliked Toilet block a little small for the size of the site. I was the unlucky one to get a cold shower but not sure if regular as others seemed happy enough. My wife said the temperature control was not the best one, minute scolding the next stone cold. Did hear one person saying they got burned as couldn’t turn the temperature down.

Liked The family who run the place are incredible! So friendly and kind. Made a massive effort to make us feel welcome and explain the site.

Not a massive site but that is to its benefit. Great location and gives access to a huge range of favourites. The Ship Inn in Wool is great and a lovely walk back.

Facilities were clean and never had any sign of use. I heartily recommend just hiring the fire pit and wood. The magic fire mix is worth the money on its own! Brilliant service!

No Wi-Fi on site but pressed the review button

Disliked I would say this campsite has everything you need but no extras. I love that but you should be aware. Also there are not numerous showers or toilets. It worked for us but if you are delicate about others it may not quite be for you. Just be realistic about what you want

Liked Lovely little campsite with lovely hosts. The toilets and showers are clean (showers are like if you have your hose on the ‘mist’ setting).
