Whatever your reason to head for the West County – beach holidays, family sightseeing, walking or watersports – Mill Paddock Campsite has got all bases covered. This small site is around 10 minutes’ drive from Jurassic Coast beaches and Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre; it’s also right by the Purbeck Way, and only a short stroll from paddleboarding adventures along the River Frome. With no designated pitches, you can set up wherever you like on the level, well-maintained and family-friendly camping field, which has electric hook-ups and water points dotted around its perimeter. The modern facilities block houses showers, toilets and washing-up sinks – it’s cleaned regularly and there’s always plenty of hot water. There are mature trees edging the field if you’re after shade, picnic tables are provided for alfresco dining and firepits are welcome so you can all gather around and enjoy being together. Logs are available to purchase on site at a low price, and pretty everything you need for outdoor evenings can be found in the shops, pubs and restaurants of Wareham (10 minutes’ drive). Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join in all the family fun, and guest numbers are always limited so the field never feels overcrowded; this also allows a safe environment for children to play in – and there’s a treehouse for them to muck around in too.

  • Minderjarigen (18-) dienen te worden vergezeld door een ouder en/of officiële voogd.
  • Op deze camping zijn hondenrassen/kruisingen die in de 'lijst met hoog-risico honden op agressief gedrag' zijn opgenomen, niet toegestaan (zoals de pitbullterriër, tosa, Argentijnse dog en fila brasileiro). Ook de volgende rassen zijn niet welkom: de staffordshire-bulterriër, Amerikaanse staffordshireterriër, rottweiler en mastiff.
  • Commerciële voertuigen (voertuigen die gebruikt worden voor werk en/of het vervoeren van goederen of betalende passagiers) en voertuigen met reclameboodschappen zijn verboden op het terrein.
  • Voor het gebruik van de elektrische aansluitingen is een kabel van minstens 10 meter nodig.
  • Minimumafstand van 6 meter tussen de staplaatsen.
  • Het wordt gasten geadviseerd om een zaklantaarn van goede kwaliteit mee te nemen, omdat delen van het terrein onverlicht zijn.
  • Geen elektrische barbecues toegestaan.
  • Er is geen receptie ter plaatse: neem bij aankomst contact op met het nummer dat in de reserveringsbevestiging vermeld staat.
  • Bij droog, winderig en/of heet weer zijn vuren, barbecues en vuurkorven niet toegestaan.
  • Het opladen van elektrische voertuigen is niet toegestaan op het terrein.

Deze camping is schoon, rustig en goed onderhouden, met gastvrije en behulpzame eigenaren die uitstekend lokaal advies geven. De plaatsen zijn vlak en er zijn schaduwrijke opties. De faciliteiten, inclusief toiletten en warme douches, worden geprezen om hun netheid. De locatie is perfect om de Jurassic Coast te verkennen, met stranden en attracties in de buurt. Ik was blij met Absolutely beautiful location , the hosts abbie and paul were so welcoming , and ensured the facilities were always clean , lovely site to stay ,will defo be coming back think were gonna be regulars for this site, close to the beaches and shops . Couldn't ask for more .Thankyou abbie and paul for a lovely experience.

Ik was blij met Lovely owners, nice flat campsite, clean facilities

Ik was niet blij met Only four fire pits, there were a lot of ants, maybe due to the time of year but all pitches seemed to have the same issue. There is definitely no wifi, showers heads could be changed as about 10% of water hits you the rest misses, in a fine mist! Having to constantly hold the shower ‘play’ button was a joke.
Plumbing for the shower meant the stagnant water filled the male showers, with approx 8 inches of water…

Owners answered the phone once, then ignored most other calls, this was heard from many other campers.

Ik was blij met The Campsite wasn't busy at the time of our stay
so we had plenty of space and privacy. Toilets and showers are very clean. The owners are really friendly. Campsite had fridge too which was really helpful for us.

Ik was blij met Excellent place to stay, not far from the Jurassic Coast and Durdle Door. The hosts were very welcoming and made our stay special by providing extra equipment we had forgotten at home and giving us great advice on other places to visit. The site itself is not large, has clean toilets, hot shower, fridge. Site is located really close to the river were, if you wish, can go swimming.

Ik was niet blij met Showers were a bit tricky to use for children.

Ik was blij met Very clean camping site . Toilets clean and showers clean. Loved the female only toilets and showers . I don't like going to camp sites with mixed sexes toilets . You can pick your own pitch. We had electric pitch . Very flat and even pitch . The couple who run the site were lovely ,and the chap give us hints where to go for the day . We will be back

Ik was blij met Wonderful, genuine greeting from the host. Level field, freshly mown. Easy, unlimited access.Clean showed/ toilet block, plenty of drinking water taps on site.

Ik was niet blij met Lots of barbecue smoke - it was like a medieval village! But that was the campers fault not the site owner's.

Lokale bezienswaardigheden

There are footpaths and river walks a few metres away from the site, which is on the Purbeck Way as well as the Purbeck Cycle Ride route. Paddleboarding and kayaking on the River Frome can be arranged and booked with qualified local instructors at an additional cost. If you want to dip your toes in the sea, the sandy beaches of the Jurassic Coast are calling. Studland Bay (25 minutes’ drive) has miles of sandy beach with views of Old Harry’s Rocks, and you might want to try a bit of fossil hunting at Kimmeridge Bay (20 minutes). You can also have a safe swim in the shallow waters of Lulworth Cove (15 minutes), from where you can walk to the spectacular rock arch at Durdle Door in 25 minutes. The kids should appreciate watching the animal antics at Monkey World - Ape Rescue Centre, where there are daily keeper talks, and enjoy mooching around the highly acclaimed Tank Museum at Bovington (both 10 minutes’ drive), where there are also frequent driving displays.
