  • Peaceful, family-friendly coastal location on a working alpaca farm
  • Bournemouth and the New Forest within 20 minutes' drive
  • Two minutes' walk from the River Stour and five from shops and pubs
Set on a working alpaca farm in the Dorset countryside, Snooks Farm Alpacas is a splendid spot for the whole family, just three miles from Ferndown and two minutes' walk away from the River Stour. The free-range sheep and roaming goats should keep the kids entertained for hours – and there are also free-range duck and chicken eggs for sale here too. There are plenty of nearby attractions for a week of adventure. You can spend the day exploring the seaside resort of Bournemouth or take in the spectacular views of the New Forest; both within 20 minutes' drive. A skiing and snowboarding activity centre is only 10 minutes away, and Bournemouth airport is close by too (making this a handy pre-flight stay or base for the popular airshow). For food and drinks, the shops and pubs of West Parley are a five-minute walk away and barbecues are permitted on site. Dogs are not allowed on site.

What customers say

This farm campsite offers a unique experience with numerous friendly animals, including alpacas and llamas, that often roam into the camping fields. Pitches are level, and guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity to pitch where they choose. Hosts are consistently described as friendly and welcoming. While facilities are basic, many found them clean. Some guests noted the proximity to Bournemouth Airport, with occasional plane noise, and a few mentioned the site's rustic appearance upon arrival. The site is recommended for those seeking a relaxed, back-to-basics farm stay.

Liked We loved our time here, we originally booked for one night but needed up booking another night. My boys loved being able to roam free and connect with the animals. The emu's, goats, sheep and alpachas were friendly. The facilities were clean and smelt great. Chris was a great host and family was friendly. Definitely coming back!!

Liked The alpacas

Disliked It was like driving into a junk yard!
You could park where you like but some people parked disrespectful, they were so close we could only just open our back door.
The place is in need of lots of Tlc.

From the manager: Hi
Thankyou for your feed back Lisa, this is a working farm not a junk yard!
You all have lots of room with no allocated pitches, we cannot control how you park, and if you were unhappy there was plenty of room for you to move!

Disliked The camp site is just an empty field,
With poor facilities.

My partner and I left shortly after arriving and found another camp site

From the manager: Many thanks for your feedback although I'm not sure what you were expecting when coming to an alpaca FARM
Toilets maybe basic but they are clean.
Animals are there to see and enjoy.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Great level site.

Really friendly hosts

Brilliant animals

We live with an airport nearby so the occasional planes didn't bother us - actually it was nice looking up.at folks going on holiday when we were already on holiday ourselves 😁

Disliked Only 2 loos (that I could find).

Not a huge problem for most of the day, but quite busy first thing in the morning.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked This site is a little gem! We arrived and were greeted by a lovely lady who explained everything we needed and said was available if needed anything.
Honey and eggs available to buy (both delicious)

We had visiting alpaca pop by and hop over the fence super cute and no bother. Animals on site were lovely.

Toilets were lovely and clean on arrival and was only a bit messy when we left due to grass from peoples feet. Did take own loo roll and left in the loos although was some there when arrived.

Kids played and enjoyed seeing the planes and the red jets going over. We will certainly be back! Site felt safe travelling as a mum with two boys this was really important for me.

Took rubbish with us. Already discussing with other camp friends when we can visit together.

Disliked Nothing! Toilets, water available

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Friendly helpful hosts, great animal watching, very flat level field to pitch wherever you liked. Supermarket at end of the road and bus stop into Bournemouth etc. Yes there are planes but they are not continuous and did not detract from what was otherwise a very quiet site. Good internet signal.

Disliked nothing

Never again, untidy, 2 toilets for over 40 people! very disappointing.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Alpacas, friendly

Disliked Place is a dump, Old rotting caravan up in a hedge row the whole place just needs a general tidy up, PERMANENT people living in motorhomes with loud music and staring at you is very off putting! The place is a very very small field they let way too many people on site for the size of it.

Very risky letting Lamas roam free with the campers they are nasty spitting. Alpacas jump the fence also.

NO toilet roll, NO Showers, NEXT TO AIRPORT 747 taking off!!!!!! Direct flight path.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Many thanks for your feed back
This is a working alpaca farm, no rotting caravans in hedges, if you don't like alpacas then I'm not sure why you would want to stay on an alpaca farm?
No toilet roll as this is always stolen. No showers are on the booking information along with the airport
747 haven't flow for a long time !
