  • Peaceful, family-friendly coastal location on a working alpaca farm
  • Bournemouth and the New Forest within 20 minutes' drive
  • Two minutes' walk from the River Stour and five from shops and pubs
Set on a working alpaca farm in the Dorset countryside, Snooks Farm Alpacas is a splendid spot for the whole family, just three miles from Ferndown and two minutes' walk away from the River Stour. The free-range sheep and roaming goats should keep the kids entertained for hours – and there are also free-range duck and chicken eggs for sale here too. There are plenty of nearby attractions for a week of adventure. You can spend the day exploring the seaside resort of Bournemouth or take in the spectacular views of the New Forest; both within 20 minutes' drive. A skiing and snowboarding activity centre is only 10 minutes away, and Bournemouth airport is close by too (making this a handy pre-flight stay or base for the popular airshow). For food and drinks, the shops and pubs of West Parley are a five-minute walk away and barbecues are permitted on site. Dogs are not allowed on site.

What customers say

This farm campsite offers a unique experience with numerous friendly animals, including alpacas and llamas, that often roam into the camping fields. Pitches are level, and guests appreciate the peaceful atmosphere and the opportunity to pitch where they choose. Hosts are consistently described as friendly and welcoming. While facilities are basic, many found them clean. Some guests noted the proximity to Bournemouth Airport, with occasional plane noise, and a few mentioned the site's rustic appearance upon arrival. The site is recommended for those seeking a relaxed, back-to-basics farm stay.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked The farm life, alpacas, sheep, chickens and a strange bird that I've not identified but it was big. The field was big and flat, with space for every one, it was ideal as a 'wild' camping experience.

Disliked Being under the flight line of Bournemouth airport. The site is close, like only 300 ft between the aircraft and you close. The noise was off the charts and started at 7am, then a flight every 5 mins or so after that.

Liked Chris the owner was very welcoming..

Disliked Wasn’t told about being under the main landing strip of Bournemouth Airport so very noisy!!..

Very basic toilets, no toilet rolls supplied or hand drying facilities…

Unfortunately my van and myself got covered in ants…

No real access locally to the River Stour as described…

Couldn’t wait to leave to be honest..

Sorry not for me..😢

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked Liked the animals! It was a very basic square flat field. Wasn't too busy. 2 proper toilets. Basic no frills, no problem. Very close to the airport which was really noisy as planes took off, maybe 4 or 5 early morning lights took off. Good for a night.

Disliked Nothing
