General

  • Working livestock farm within a five-minute drive of Dorchester
  • Fully-equipped field kitchen and family room with TV and jukebox
  • 4x4 driving experiences and Segway rides available to buy

Looking for your fix of outdoor life with both a peaceful vibe and a good stack of facilities? Dewflock Farm is a working farm where families can have a safe, scenic setting from which to explore the Dorset countryside or zip down to the Jurassic Coast – or just stick around to watch the farm animals going about their daily business.

This is a great base for visitors wanting to explore Dorset, as bus stops and bike routes are within a 10-minute walk. The shops, restaurants, bars, cinemas and museums of county town Dorchester are a five-minute drive away, and the splendid sands of Weymouth can be reached in about 15 minutes. Some other lovely beaches, such as Ringstead and Lulworth, are also within easy reach and worth exploring – the site team will happily point you in the right direction.

There are plenty of opportunities for quality family time here – active types can let off steam at the football posts, table tennis or table football, or sign up for 4x4 driving experiences and Segway rides (offered for a fee). Nippers keen to have a go? Mini Landrovers are available for four- to 10-year-olds. For quieter (or damp) hours, there’s a cosy converted pig barn with wifi access, TV and video.

The nearest supermarket is a two-minute drive away, but there's food even closer to hand too – the owners produce their own beef, lamb and pork so you can order organic meat to be delivered to your accommodation for a particularly fine dinner cooked up on your barbecue or in the field kitchen, where there's a communal eating area.

As this is a working farm with livestock, unfortunately dogs can't be permitted on site.

Please note

No cars/motorbikes by the pitch/unit. All cars must be parked in the designated area.

No hen/stag parties permitted via Pitchup.com.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

  • Liked:

The shepherds hut was cosy with a lovely comfy double bed and views of the farm animals and countryside.
The owners were extremely nice and helpful in everyway.
    Great place for children.
    Wellies a good idea.

    Disliked:

Not enough information on the booking form - it is really a wooden tent - you need to bring some camping equipment (small stove/kettle etc) as the Seth hut is quite a distance from the kitchen.

From the manager...
