General

  • Three specimen carp lakes on site
  • On 70 acres of landscaped parkland close to Exmoor
  • Play area and shop

If a caravan park has 'Riverside' in its name, you might reckon you might get some fishing. And you'd be right: South Molton's Riverside Caravan and Camping Park has three specimen lakes stocked with quality carp, and more angling (and paddling) can be availed of at the nearby River Mole.

The site sits on 70 acres of landscaped parkland with ten acres of mature woodland running alongside the River Mole: as you might also reckon, it's all mighty pretty.

Riverside is a family-friendly park and has a play area and an on-site shop.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Occasional on-site events are taking place each month to celebrate the tenth year in business. Events will include live music and entertainment.

Shower block, helpful staff and entertainment. We broke down on the site on arriving and the staff in the club were fantastic putting us onto a very helpful local garage. Good bar prices and meals and very well laid out site. If we had room we would've brought our sons fishing tackle as there are Great Lakes on the site but had to be content with mackerel fishing.

    Disliked:

Noisy road (overcome by earplugs) and flooding of site with tents on Bank holiday weekend which coincided with toilets and showers being full of grass-shoe scraper would've come in handy at entrance-and pools of water on floor-a squeegee mop would have come in handy as the string mop wasn't effective. The wifi was not working away from the club area and we had to keep visiting it to revaildate it.

excellent site toilets were excellent level pitches sun all day 02/09/2016

Pitches in tent area were excellent with the idea that you leave the centre clear for the kids to play in, but nothing was to cramped, we travelled as a group with 5 large tents. bbqued every night the sun was out all day. There was a slight noise from the nearby main road, but this did not disturb anybody in our party. The toilets were close enough to use but not too close to cause problems. The whole site was maintained by friendly staff to an extremely clean standard. There was facilities for disabled in the main toilet block. there is a comfy club house which did not seem to get too busy in the time we stayed (August bank holiday) the prices were reasonable and the staff, who all seem to be family, were very friendly and helpful. there was an ideal play area for the kids.

    Disliked:

The shop was slightly lacking. I personally am glad we were in the non electrics area as the pitches in the hook up areas seemed far more crowded.otherwise there was very little to dislike, however a party member was informed that from next year these things were going to be addressed.

Everything. The campsite was nicely laid out with well marked pitches, electric and non electric. Massive field available which was great for kids playing ball games/frisbie etc. My 2 girls (11 years of age) loved the campsite, especially the River. Great location for visiting local beaches such as Woolacombe (which I would highly recommend) and Ilfracombe (Tunnel Beach well worth a visit). All the conveniences nearby in Barnstable. Great fun was had by all. Would highly recommend it.
