General

  • Family-run adults-only site in eight acres of farmland near Paignton
  • Spacious site with views out towards the moors
  • Licensed summer restaurant, bar, clubhouse and spotless amenities

Widdicombe Farm Touring Park is a family-run, adults-only site, set in eight acres of scenic farmland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are no winding narrow country lanes to negotiate so no tiresome reversing if you should meet other traffic on the way to the park.

The site serves home-cooked meals in its licensed restaurant from Easter to the end of September, so you can come here to relax and let someone else cook your evening meal or Sunday lunch. The restaurant has a cosy and friendly atmosphere and also provides takeaways.

Gordon's bar on site has a good selection of beers, wines and ciders. Over the Easter break and then from the spring bank holiday to the end of September, there's live entertainment several nights a week.

Other on-site facilities include a small shop and a clubhouse; there's also a modern toilet and shower block, kept to spotless standards by staff.

Please note

Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Bookings must not be for more than 14 consecutive nights.

Single-sex bookings of 3 or more people (couples and immediate family members excepted) are not permitted via Pitchup.com.

The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Group bookings where over half of the group is under 25 are not accepted via Pitchup.com.

During low season (October and March to mid-May, with the exception of Easter and Bank Holidays), the bar, restaurant and shop will only open when the customer demand is sufficient (to be decided at the discretion of on-site management).

The whole set up at the site is perfection. The staff are friendly, sociable and very helpful, as were the groundsman. The onsite restaurant serves gorgeous meals ( Sunday Carvery was delicious). Gordons Bar is a lovely place to chill out and relax in the evening.
All the amenities were spotless regardless of the time of day, we even saw staff cleaning the Toilet/Shower block late in the evening.
We found all the other people on the site very friendly, very chatty despite being the only couple in a tent for most of our stay.
Torquay, Paignton and Brixham are all only a short drive away.

All in all a great place to stay and for the price I would be surprised if you would find any site that would match it in the area.

Thanks to all at the site for making our visit so memorable. See you next year!

This was a highly organised and well run site. It was in a good position travel wise because it was directly off the A380.
The shower blocks were immaculate. We didn't eat in the cafe but it looked popular. The bar had entertainment most evenings but we didn't go to any so we can't make a judgement about that.
The site has several tiered areas and you have a fabulous views towards Dartmoor but the wind can be quite strong because of this.
The staff were helpful but I would say a little unfriendly.
I do feel that the pitches are quite close to each other and I'd hate to try and reverse a caravan into one with such a small space for manoeuvre but then again we've only got a small campervan so we are not practised in that fine art of caravan positioning
The site is close to Paignton and Torquay and there's a very nice footpath that takes you to Occombe farm, cafe and shop but the farm shop was closed until further notice when we got there, however the cafe was lovely with a balcony overlooking the countryside and from here you can walk a further mile and three quarters to Cockington court, or 2 and a half miles to seafront at Torquay. Could use bikes as well.

    Disliked:

From the manager...

Pity you didn't go into the bar I think you would of enjoyed the entertainment. Next time you come down remind us that you found your pitch to be windy and we'll work with you to find a suitable alternative pitch. If you're happy in your small campervan then stick with it. As you say you can manoeuvre easily and it suits you. It would be nice if Occombe Farm could find someone to take over the farm shop as we all found it a lovely little shop.

Continuous noise from duel carriage way

From the manager...

The road generally doesn't cause an issue unless it is wet and we have an Easterly wind. However, we understand that some people are more sensitive than others and obviously you were distracted by this. We would have been more than happy to of moved you to another pitch slightly lower down which would of improved things for you but we were not made aware of any issue at the time. Sorry this spoiled your stay but if you are ever back in the area we would love to see you back with us.

Each pitch had plenty of space, and the site was set out superbly with beautiful views across the Devon countryside. Easy to get to from the main road, without navigating loads of tiny lanes with a caravan. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. I’ve never seen such clean showers and toilets - just immaculate!! Well placed to visit all sorts that Devon has to offer. We hope to return next year.

    Disliked:

WiFi was a bit slow at times, but that’s not what we were there for!!

From the manager...

Glad you found our park to your liking. We do work hard to keep it clean & tidy but it's worth it when people comment on it. Sorry the WIFI was slow, i'll pass your comments on to the provider. See you next year.
