What customers say

This is a clean, well-maintained, and friendly campsite with excellent facilities, particularly the indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Staff are consistently praised for being helpful and accommodating. The site offers a wide range of activities for children and is well-located for exploring the surrounding area. Some visitors noted that certain pitches were sloped, and WiFi signal could be inconsistent. A few guests mentioned that some shower blocks needed updating and that pitches could be close together during busy periods.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Nice reception and bar

Disliked Awful old toilet block and showers, next to the touring pitches. Smelt of drains throughout, showers very dark, dirty, no shower seats and one broken hook to hang cloths, very slippery floor when wet. Like going back to the bad old days of camping. Hard standing pitches are not level.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Staff are very friendly, they met our needs, and exceeded our expectations. The electric hook-up was really simple, and the wifi was excellent. The facilities were very well appointed, clean and very well maintained. We stayed here for two nights and wished we had stayed for longer. We left Whitehill Country Park and moved on to Cofton holiday park in Dawlish Warren where we were treated as a commodity rather than a guest.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.

Non-electric grass tent pitch (sloping)

Liked Very pleasant site with good quality facilities. we had a good pitch with a slight slope but managed to sleep well. The Bar offered a good variety of drinks and was comfortable

Disliked Could have done with some power points in the bar/restaurant for charging phones. There were no sockets at all.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Well placed, convenient site with good if infrequent bus service into Paignton. The facilities are exceptionally good for the price and everyone was very friendly. Having been in CAMC for many years I would have been very upset to pay their prices when Whitehill is just across the road.
Will definitely use again.

Disliked Would have been nice to be able to choose a pitch, as quite a few, better positioned pitches, were available throughout our stay whilst other more temporary visitors got the benefit of what sun we had during a changeable week.

Local attractions

The sights and activities around this part of Devon will suit all tastes: Dartmoor for active adventures, Totnes and Dartmouth for history and heritage – and the 22 miles of the English Rivieria for beaches, watersports, fishing and boat trips. The closest beach to Whitehill Country Park is Goodrington, a mile south of Paignton. After you’ve stretched out on the red sands, there are a few other options to check out: learn about the history of the English Riviera at the free Seashore Centre, pedal your way around the boating lake, or take the kids to the waterslides and pools of Splashdown at Quaywest. The English Riviera is of course also Agatha Christie territory – Greenway House was her holiday home (also where David Suchet as Poirot filmed his last scenes. Sniff.) If you can’t make it to the annual Agatha Christie festival (tsk), amble along the 10 landmarks of the Agatha Christie Mile in Torquay; eight of the sites have clues spelling out the name of a Christie character. Hint: it’s probably not ‘Miss Marple’.
