Try a Ruda wakening instead: after a blissfully peaceful lie-in, take a gulp of fresh, clean air and stroll a few steps down to the golden sands and sparkling waves… Ruda Holiday Park sits right alongside the sweeping sandy surfing beach of Croyde Bay on Devon’s Gold Coast. Croyde is a popular destination for surfers, and it’d be rude not to have a go while you’re here. Guests can hire a variety of boards, wetsuits and other kit from Ruda Holiday Park’s dedicated surf shop, and instructors from the renowned Surf South West school are on hand if you want lessons. If the weather isn't playing nice, head for Ruda’s tropical indoor pool complex, where there are water rapids and underwater geysers, waterfalls, hydrojets and one humongous slide. This site is great for kids of all ages, with the children's club, adventure playground, indoor soft play area, tennis court and activities like 'tots and tunes' or character dining (this last one's during high season only). There's also a good choice of on-site food options, including a beach café and an ice-cream parlour, plus a sprightly schedule of evening entertainment, and comprehensive essential amenities.

Disliked No access to beach for our dog just the dunes, WI-FI only at club house would have liked on our pitch.

Disliked Some on the staff need to be a bit more welcoming on arrival.The man that eventually spoke to us at check in was miserable,there was no welcoming on arrival.Just said the pitch number and walked off.There were signs leading us to the touring park but there was nobody so we could check in.Then sent across to the Burrows with no pitch number.went bk to main reception to the not so happy chap who really didnt seem happy to be checking us in.

Liked Toilets, showers washing up block , first class and clean.

Disliked The number on my pitch had gone so I had to go by what the others had written on them.

Liked The site was lovey. Plenty to do and good choice of take away food outlets and a well stocked shop. Very clean and tidy around the site and staff helpful and friendly. Lovely pool for swimming and the security around the site made us feel really comfortable there.The beach on the door step means you don’t even have to take the car out if you don’t want to.

Electric grass touring pitch (no pets)

Liked Clean shower and toilet block. Our pitch was in a quiet part of the site. Well stocked shop on site. Very close to the beach.

Disliked The free WiFi only available in function room which we didn’t go in. Would have been nice to have free WiFi where our van was parked.

Disliked How close people feel they need to park next to even though they should park in between the 2 posts.
Also the wall behind us was used by the young lads in the field behind us as a short cut
