Try a Ruda wakening instead: after a blissfully peaceful lie-in, unzip your sleeping bag, take a gulp of fresh clean air and stroll a few steps down to the golden sands and sparkling waves… Ruda Holiday Park is in the perfect spot to make the most of the surfers' paradise of Croyde Bay on Devon’s Gold Coast, sitting right alongside the sweeping sandy bay. Croyde is a world-famous destination for surfers, and it’d be ruda not to have a go while you’re here. You can hire a variety of boards, wetsuits and other kit from Ruda Holiday Park’s dedicated surf shop, and instructors from the renowned Surf South West school are on hand if you want lessons. If the weather puts the kibosh on splashing around in the great outdoors, head for Ruda’s tropical indoor pool complex, where there are water rapids and underwater geysers, waterfalls, hydrojets and one humongous slide. This site is great for kids of all ages, with beach games laid on throughout the summer, a soft play area, an outdoor playground complete with obstacle course, and very bouncy kids' clubs: toddlers can make their own musical instruments for a boogie with Sid the seagull and Lizzie the lizard; four- to 10-year-olds can star in their own superhero movie, or get stuck into nostalgic funfair sessions featuring a coconut shy, tin can alley and the like; and there are DJ workshops and plenty of other age-appropriate action for tweens and teens in the Freestyle club. You’ll find a good choice of on-site food options (Ruda has the added bonus of a beach café and ice-cream parlour), plus a sprightly schedule of evening entertainment, and comprehensive essential amenities.

喜欢 Lovely camp site,we even extended our stay by two nights.All the staff were super friendly. Food on site was great . Toilets and showers very clean...cleaned every day,cleaner took pride in her work, her name was Iris,the lovely ladies on reception gave us her name...will definitely be back.

不喜欢 Not being able to take the dog on Croyde beach (not allowed on there during peak season) but that was our own fault for not checking before hand.

喜欢 Ideally situated for the beach. Very friendly and welcoming security guard on the Croyde Burrows gate.

不喜欢 Showers lukewarm at best. A huge corporate site like this should be able to get the basics right- but no - two uncomfortably cool showers in two days. I was also unimpressed by £7 charge for the washing machines. Last campsite was £1 for a 30 minute refresh and £2.40 for a proper wash cycle. Ruda are taking the proverbial.

不喜欢 where are the tent places very dirty garbage also toilets and where to wash dishes.
We didn't have an envelope ready for arrival. The price was high. We had to collect trash to put up our tent.

喜欢 Location, lovely children's park and if it wasn't so busy, the swimming pool.

不喜欢 No details were communicated from the park of where we go to check in, details on the swimming sessions and how to book so we missed out on alot, even after phoning them. I feel we should've booked direct with john fowler than booking via pitchup.

喜欢 Location, pitch size and location within the site. Facilities, such as chemical disposal, rubbish, including recycling option, water was great. Nice that it’s all been opened up to dogs and other animals.

不喜欢 Definitely overpriced for what you get, and clearly milking the location and seasonal uptake. Stayed there for four nights, and don’t think the showers and toilets were ever cleaned. Loo roll and bin bags were changed only.

Don’t miss the chance to explore the Devonshire coastline surrounding Ruda Holiday Park. Recommendations include a walk to the headland at Baggy Point where you’ll be rewarded with outstanding views; a saunter along spectacular Saunton Sands, and a delve into the dunes at Braunton Burrows. Croyde is a perfectly pretty village of thatched cottages, tearooms, pubs, restaurants, cafés and (but of course) surf shops.
