General

  • Small award-winning glamping site with hot tub for hire
  • Peaceful farm with Camel Estuary views a mile off A39 at Wadebridge
  • Shiatsu and tarot readings/astrology charts by qualified astrologer

Chapel Farm is set a quiet and peaceful farm in Cornwall with excellent views of the River Camel across the estuary to Padstow. You can watch the sailing boats and speedboats come out with the jetskiers on a fine day or enjoy views of the sun going down over Padstow on the decking. The site's also within walking distance of acclaimed local pub the Quarryman Inn, which serves food.

There's no street lighting here, although the area around the accommodation is well lit, so you can look at the constellations, stars and planets in the dark night sky. A woodfired hot tub seating up to eight is available for an additional fee: please book and pay in advance.

The owner is a Shiatsu therapist and can give treatments in her cosy treatment room for a small cost payable on site. Tarot readings are also available.

Please note

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians.

Dogs are not allowed in the accommodation units.

Quiet location. It was our first time in a caravan so not sure what to expect, beds were comfy (especially our 7year olds) as I slept in hers more than mine. Views from the caravan were wonderful . Being next door to the owners house was not an issue and if we did need anything all we had to do was ask.

Welcome basket was non existent all we had was nearly empty cereal boxes a tiny loaf of brown bread and some leftover butter 😡 The wifi was non existent and the van itself wasn't the cleanest. Photos are very misleading as van is literally outside owners back door(in garden) literally 8-10ft away from front of van with a massive shed at the back of van so rear window couldn't be opened properly as only about a 60cm gap between them.I wouldn't recommend this place. The host was also quite abrupt telling us we had to sleep in 3 single beds as we were only there for 1 night so making large front bed wasn't allowed as was too much hassle to be used for a short period.

From the manager...

Oh dear I certainly did upset this guest. It was not meant of course. I do say on the website what I offer for guests' first breakfast only and most people I find don't have much so next year I think I'll drop that if its a contentious issue as quite a bit is wasted. There was a choice of 3 cereals, small loaf as there were 3 guests, bit of butter, marmalade and jam, honey, tea, coffee, small carton milk, sugar, sweetners, salt pepper, oil. I list it on the website so guests know what to expect. I also put in hand wash, washing up liquid, cleaning materials, towels, tea towels, wash up cloth and in the bathroom there is shower gel, toilet rolls, guests have left shampoo and conditioner, soap and hand wash among other things.
Yes Blue Moon is close to my back door because that's the best place to get the lovely views but I do keep a blind down for privacy. I thought I had a picture on of the caravan and the house but didn't so will do that to be clear. The shed at the rear is my shiatsu treatment room which is rarely used and the rear caravan window will open properly. There is no view to see from the rear bedroom window but there are lovely views from front and side.
Matt asked about putting a double bed down at the front as I think this is how it works in his caravan but it's not the best solution here as it gives no floor space at the front where the tv is so I didn't recommend it. Later I thought that I could have taken the single out of the back and put up a double for him at the rear as he was a big man but this leaves the 2 young boys at the front with the tv which might not have been acceptable. I'm really sorry I came over abrupt. It was not meant. I didn't think quickly enough how to make him more comfortable. I thought about it after they had gone out which was too late. It took me a while to find the picture with the fluff which was not obvious and have cleaned that and the vent in the bathroom which can be tricky to get out so that's fair enough. I apologise to Matt as he obviously felt upset.
Please read the other reviews which show that guests did not find me abrupt and enjoyed their stay.

    Disliked:

It was a shame the hot tub wasnt working and we werent informed prior to our visit as this was one of the reasons we chose Chapel Farm and were looking forward to it.

From the manager...

Thanks for lovely review. My customers didn't express any interest in the hot tub until 7pm that night when I had to say that as the pump wasn't working and we'd just had visitors in over the weekend I couldn't offer the hot tub that night until I had changed the water. This is the first time I have had to refuse visitors the hot tub which of course isn't included in the price if their stay and needs pre booking.

Enjoyed a quiet 4 days in beautiful surroundings. The caravan is compact, ideal for a couple, clean and well equipped. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner and could recommend it for those wanting a peaceful setting yet accessible to all the attractions that Cornwall has to offer.
