  • Cornwall holiday park with beach access five minutes’ drive from Hayle
  • A 20-minute drive from Tate St Ives
  • Bar, bistro and shop on site, plus a play park and heated indoor pool
Private access to a three-mile sandy beach sound tempting? That's the fabulous feature you’ll get at St Ives Bay Holiday Park, set on sand dunes five minutes’ drive from Hayle in Cornwall. If you’re all piling in for a family holiday, you can spend days building sandcastles, running around on the beach with the kids and cooling off in the sea. Travelling as a couple? You’ll have spectacular sea views across St Ives Bay and you’re almost guaranteed colourful sunsets as a backdrop for romantic twilight strolls on the sand. And when kicking back and enjoying the views is not quite enough for you (and, let’s face it, the kids will want more), how about crazy golf, tennis or the amusement arcades? You can burn off more energy at the surf school or in the heated indoor swimming pool, and there are play areas scattered around the park to wear the kids out properly. With all this going on, make sure you leave time to unwind for a drink at the terrace bar with superb views over the bay and a menu of small, tapas-style snacks – there’s entertainment in the evenings too. Or you may like to make a night of it with the family over a freshly prepared meal at Sands Bistro? Forgotten an important ingredient or need milk for your morning cuppa? There’s a well-stocked independent shop on site that stocks all the essentials, including your daily newspaper.

Non-electric grass pitch

Liked Close proximity to beach, in fact we were pitched more or less in the dunes. The site is very clean and lots of amenities including bar, restaurant, swimming pool, surf school. Lots of rabbits running around. Guys on the barrier we’re really helpful helping find a pitch for our large unit.

Disliked High price of pitch, £62 per night without ehu is very excessive, even considering the location. Also the bar prices are high. There isn’t any information on the map provided where the Motorhome service points are throughout the site.

Liked The site was close to the beach and on the whole a nice site, it was centrally situated for all site seeing places, there is a shop on the site which is well stocked and reasonably priced, the clubhouse is large and has a good variety of entertainment.
We used the laundrette, which was fine, you pay for a token for the washing machine and one for the tumble dryer, the detergent is in with the price.

Disliked The only gripe was, the toilets were abused on the first day we were there, a couple of mini buses turned up about 17:30 and the toilets and showers were attacked, they were unusable after that, sinks had cigarette buts in them, stones in another, toilets were blocked and drains over flowing, we had to report them being unusable for them to send in the cleaners….. this isn’t the site’s fault, but they should of been maintained more regularly than they were, but we will be using this site again on our next camper van road trip
