  • Cornwall holiday park with beach access five minutes’ drive from Hayle
  • A 25-minute drive to Flambards Theme Park, Tate St Ives 20 minutes
  • Bar, bistro and shop on site, plus a play park and heated indoor pool
Private access to a three-mile sandy beach sound tempting? That's the fabulous feature you’ll get at St Ives Bay Holiday Park, set on sand dunes five minutes’ drive from Hayle in Cornwall. If you’re all piling in for a family holiday, you can spend days building sandcastles, running around on the beach with the kids and cooling off in the sea. Travelling as a couple? You’ll have spectacular sea views across St Ives Bay and you’re almost guaranteed colourful sunsets as a backdrop for romantic twilight strolls on the sand. And when kicking back and enjoying the views is not quite enough for you (and, let’s face it, the kids will want more), how about crazy golf, tennis or the amusement arcades? You can burn off more energy at the surf school or in the heated indoor swimming pool, and there are play areas scattered around the park to wear the kids out properly. With all this going on, make sure you leave time to unwind for a drink at the terrace bar with superb views over the bay and a menu of small, tapas-style snacks – there’s entertainment in the evenings too. Or you may like to make a night of it with the family over a freshly prepared meal at Sands Bistro? Forgotten an important ingredient or need milk for your morning cuppa? There’s a well-stocked independent shop on site that stocks all the essentials, including your daily newspaper.

Liked: Great site, pitchs good size and well kept. Food was great in restaurant. The views were really good. The shop on site has everything you need. Would recommend!

Disliked: Shower facilities could do with a little bit of maintenance such as broken locks and taps. Other then that great site!

Liked: 5⭐️ Had a fantastic week here! Plenty of room on the pitches for camping and clean facilities! 5 min walk to one of the best beaches In the UK… Even beach parking on site, plenty of other walks locally and on the site especially if you are into your nature! The sands bar is great for food 10/10, reasonable price, sea view 😍 and did not have to wait long! Dynamite bar was fantastic for everyone great atmosphere, good for kids and adult's! Also won on the bingo 👍. Swimming pool is decent and a shallow part separated for young kids! All staff very kind & helpful, will tell you anything you need to know… shop on site sells pretty much anything essential! Will definitely be back again soon for sure :)

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Great location! Situated just across the bay of St Ives.. the camp is actually in Hayle. Got everything you need.. without being caught in the hussle of the St Ives. Short drive/bus/train in. Park itself was excellent. Beach/Pitches/Shop/Entertainment/Pub/Staff all fantastic!

Disliked: Okay.. its not perfect lol The Shower facilities at the camp nearest the beach could definitely do with a upgrade.. showers had no thermal control.. which, if like us with some first day sunburn, would have helped greatly lol. But.. again, they were hot and always clean and well maintained so thats all you can ask for. But I would highly like to see them get of a refurb in the near future.

Local attractions

When you can prise the kids away from the beach, chances are they may demand to be taken to Flambards Theme Park (25 minutes’ drive) to explore the Victorian Village and experience Britain in the Blitz, run riot on the thrill rides and dig for fossils at Dino Dig. For a sneaky lesson in Cornish history, spend time on the immersive Dark Walk at Bodmin Jail Attraction (50 minutes) and take a look around the dank prison cells, or travel back to Tudor times with Elizabethan-themed workshops at National Trust-owned Trerice (40 minutes). Come right back up to date with a tour of the masterpiece works of contemporary art at Tate St Ives (20 minutes). If it’s animal-related activities you’re after, meet rescue owls at the Screech Owl Sanctuary (40 minutes), or feed the seals at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary (half an hour). Take an underground safari to see sharks and colourful shoals of tropical fish at Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay (40 minutes), and see big cats in spacious enclosures at Newquay Zoo (35 minutes).
