  • Cornwall holiday park with beach access five minutes’ drive from Hayle
  • A 20-minute drive from Tate St Ives
  • Bar, bistro and shop on site, plus a play park and heated indoor pool
Private access to a three-mile sandy beach sound tempting? That's the fabulous feature you’ll get at St Ives Bay Holiday Park, set on sand dunes five minutes’ drive from Hayle in Cornwall. If you’re all piling in for a family holiday, you can spend days building sandcastles, running around on the beach with the kids and cooling off in the sea. Travelling as a couple? You’ll have spectacular sea views across St Ives Bay and you’re almost guaranteed colourful sunsets as a backdrop for romantic twilight strolls on the sand. And when kicking back and enjoying the views is not quite enough for you (and, let’s face it, the kids will want more), how about crazy golf, tennis or the amusement arcades? You can burn off more energy at the surf school or in the heated indoor swimming pool, and there are play areas scattered around the park to wear the kids out properly. With all this going on, make sure you leave time to unwind for a drink at the terrace bar with superb views over the bay and a menu of small, tapas-style snacks – there’s entertainment in the evenings too. Or you may like to make a night of it with the family over a freshly prepared meal at Sands Bistro? Forgotten an important ingredient or need milk for your morning cuppa? There’s a well-stocked independent shop on site that stocks all the essentials, including your daily newspaper.

Liked Flat pitches
Beach is stunning

Disliked - This site is an 'Away Resort' (think Haven, Butlins etc) which isn't made completely clear when booking - would have avoided if I knew it was a resort.
- The beach is a 1km walk away from the touring pitches, and access to the beach is via a very steep sand dune. NOT ACCESSIBLE to anyone with mobility issues. We have a disabled daughter and so it was very dangerous for us to attempt the descent.
- Touring pitches very close to clubhouse and it is VERY loud of an evening.
- Very loud site in general, groups up shouting, drinking and smoking (not just tobacco) until after 1am both nights.
- Very unkept pitches, rubbish and cigarette ends everywhere.
- Pitches are 'choose your own' so spend a lot of time driving around trying to work out where you can go. We also had someone pitch up a HUGE tent in the space next to us that was not a pitch, meaning our children couldn't go outside the van to play.
- Shop closes at 4pm every day, so if you do need bread/milk, make sure you run out before tea time!
- STILL no idea where the water tap is.
- Tourers are not really important to the company 'this is where you need to drive, and this is all you need to know' is what I was told at reception, no clue on where toilet facilities, washing-up facilities etc, just left to own devices.
- Site is not clearly signposted so end up wandering around a lot.

Liked Camper van EHU. Arrived to a nice guy in reception. It's chose your own pitch but they are NOT very well signed.Found a nice pitch, albeit with a view of the bins, it was really, very large, fairly flat & trees for the dog.We did use chocks. The site is kept nicely and the facilities are OK too, missing a dog wash, they are always handy and on large sites there shouldn't really be an issue creating one for guests !? They are creating a new part of the site with statics. The whole of this site is massive. The beach is stunning. You can walk (very long) or drive or take a boat trip to see the seals in their natural habitat which is really lovely.I couldn't stay on this site again for my health issues :-( BUT I would really recommend it IF you ask for advice on places (beach) and the best ways to get there ! Oh and I loved the rabbits, as in LOADS of them :-) x

Disliked NOW, the walk to the beach from this site is a LONG walk and anyone with mobility problems will struggle. Wheelchairs/pushchairs too.Our first walk was uphill, through the site, down a very steep, sliding sand, sand dune and as someone with a bad back I found was terrible. We then found another way but also not very good on my back. You really need to ask about directions for an easier way to the beach if you have any of the above (or even not ! ) Having said all that, the beach is gorgeous. It was terribly windy but you can walk for miles if you want or you can carry all your gear & wind breakers to stop for the day !!! Theres a lovely cafe'/bar right at the veryyy far end of the beach ( a real walk !) Take food & drinks with you if you think you'll need them ! We enjoyed our stay but my advice would be to get some advice from reception about the surroundings and where it is you exactly want to be !!! I couldn't stay again with my health issues, purely the hills and my walking ability. That's a shame as the really large pitch was possibly one of the nicest we've ever had. I hate leaving negative feedback but just do a little bit of research b4 you set off to the beach and you will ENJOY :-)

Liked Perfect setting, beautiful views of the beach, the beach itself from the site is stunning, nice big pitch sizes, didn’t feel as though we were cramped with the next tent or vans, shop had everything you may need, we ate at the bistro a couple of times which was quite good, although the breakfasts were quite cold unfortunately.Plenty of bins around and the site was clean and tidy. Washing up area really good, under cover and good position. Large showers which were actually a lovely temperature and plenty of toilets.was pretty peaceful although we stayed out of the school holidays and I would say maybe gets busy and louder through the holidays Overall an enjoyable stay.

Disliked Not really a dislike more of a warning to people with mobility issues, I have arthritis and found the walk to and from the beach a bit of a killer as it’s very steep from most walkways, but as I say not a dislike just be prepared, maybe the shower block could have been a bit cleaner but the tiles are a colour that would be hard to always look clean rather than not being clean.
