General

  • Friendly family-run touring park in spectacular Cornish countryside
  • Secluded but well placed for local beaches (2.5 miles) and attractions
  • A few minutes' walk from restaurants and a traditional Cornish pub

There are reasons aplenty why Cornwall's Higher Trevaskis Caravan Park is a highly popular place for its gratified guests. Its Hayle setting, for starters, in a most nifty locale for getting around the top Cornish highlights and tackling the county's active options: for example, it's only a few miles from beaut sandy beaches at Godrevy, Gwithian and Porthkidney Sands for surfing, sunbathing and rockpooling, and within eight of St Michael's Mount for trips to one of Cornwall's most famed spots. The Eden Project, The Flambards Experience and Paradise Park all are within easy reach.

Then there's all the little touches laid on by the thoughtful and friendly team, such as free mobile phone charging, spotless amenities, and a new family shower room with constant free hot water. The site is safe for tiddlers too, as the maximum speed around it is 5mph.

Views? But of course: Higher Trevaskis is in a scenic (and secluded) setting, tiptop for family holidays and those who like peace and quiet. There's plenty of pitch space, among greenery galore and loads of room for play.

Kids can ride their bikes around the park, tackle the swings, slides and table tennis of the play area or challenge the grownups to a game of some sort in the sports field. After all that, get the barbecue sorted for peaceful evenings in this serene space: a small shop is on site for supplies, and a much-recommended farm shop is within a few minutes walk (along with a trad Cornish pub and two restaurants if you'd rather eat out).

Higher Trevaskis also has a laundry room with washing machine, spinner and dryers.

Toilets and shower facilities were cleanest ever seen on a camp site. Cleaned twice daily and so guaranteed a clean and tidy wash space. Showers were well sized with plenty of changing room. Plenty of toilets and laundry facilities were tidy and well managed. Needed this weekend with the rain!

The site is family run and this really shows, our late arrival of 9:30pm was no problem for Dan and the team and gave a very warm welcome in the morning and a greetings from the family puggles. Full of information and advise made the reason for our trip well worth it!

    Disliked:

Just the raining weather but that can't be helped!

Sorry to say we didn't get a chance to thank them in person on our departure but we will definitely we back.

Beautiful campsite, really green and pretty. Owner was very friendly and stay were great, busy re grassing pitches etc. The facilities were immaculate, the showers really nice and hot, and there was a really nice laundry room.
The campsite was very calming and safe. My partner and I stayed in our converted camper and were thrilled when our neighbour offered us some tea, which I think epitomised the feeling of the campsite, homely, welcoming and friendly. Would definitely like to stay again.

    Disliked:

Definitely needed a car to access the site and surrounding towns/villages.

Lovely quiet site, the staff were lovely and welcoming. Shop well stocked. The shower block was spotless. The pitch itself was big, surrounded by lovely trees and privacy hedges. The site is only a 15 min drive to st Ives and carbis bay.

Great camp site, very helpful and friendly staff, very clean and reliable facilities and a useful little shop. The weather wasn't great, in fact pretty wet, but we still had a lovely time and the helpful staff added to this. There are plenty of camp sites nearer to the sea but this spot is very handy to get to lots of different beaches or the park and ride into St Ives.

Wonderful site with lovely enclosed camping areas using hedges and trees to give you privacy. Owners were fantastic and were all hands on deck after a couple of heavy days rain left us a little waterlogged under our tent.
Toilet block was spotless and staff were always on hand checking and cleaning, it smelled wonderful!
I Initially thought the block wouldn't be big enough for the site but it never felt crowded and I didnt have to queue. Nice touch having the unisex showers as families could deal with cleaning youngsters easily! There was also a great wet suit/dog cleaning outdoor shower that was rigged with HOT water! Just brilliant.
Site has a lovely little shop and they had a couple of evenings where wood fired pizza and fish and chip vans came round. There's also a great farm shop just down the road.
Handy 5 min drive to Gwithian beach, nicely situated site as a base for travelling further West.
We had a fab time and will be back.
Marie her husband and team work very hard to provide a lovely atmosphere, and excellent facilities.
The best fun you can have with a squeegie and a glass of wine 😉😁

Local attractions

There's loads of choice for attractions and activities with a stay at this fine and peaceful place, including Trevaskis Farm half a mile away, where you can meet the animals, have a meal at the restaurant or pick up produce at the farm shop.

Nearby Paradise Park is a popular family stop around this part of Cornwall: have a morning around the wildlife sanctuary before letting the kids loose in the Jungle Barn play centre. Kids will also likely clamour for a day at The Flambards Experience, near Helston, and for a delve into the many activities of the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, to meet the Vikings, learn how to sail and climb a 100ft tower among many other activities.

Beaches are a must in these parts too: the closest is Gwithian, two and a half miles away, with its three miles of golden sand to laze around on, rockpools to thoroughly investigate, and waters popular for surfing. The beach is lifeguarded.

Other options are fab St Michael's Mount with medieval castle and church; the arty vibe of Tate St Ives, and the giant biomes of the Eden Project, near St Austell.
