  • Friendly family-run touring park in spectacular Cornish countryside
  • Secluded yet well placed for local beaches (2.5 miles) and attractions
  • A short drive from restaurants and a traditional Cornish pub
There are reasons aplenty why Cornwall's Higher Trevaskis Caravan Park is a highly popular place for gratified guests. Its Hayle setting, for starters, in a nifty locale for getting around the top Cornish highlights and tackling the county's active options: it's only a few miles from sandy beaches at Godrevy, Gwithian and Porthkidney Sands for surfing, sunbathing and rockpooling, and within eight of St Michael's Mount for trips to one of Cornwall's most famed spots. The Eden Project and Paradise Park are also within easy reach. Then there's all the little touches laid on by the thoughtful and friendly team, such as free mobile phone charging, spotless amenities, and a spacious family shower room with constant free hot water. Being thoughtful souls, there's wifi throughout the site (although patchy on some pitches). Views? But of course: Higher Trevaskis is in a scenic (and secluded) setting, and has plenty of pitch space among greenery galore and loads of room for play. Kids can ride their bikes around the park, tackle the swings and slides of the play area or challenge the grownups to a game of some sort in the sports field. Head to the basket swing, wooden climbing stack, wooden trim trail and sports field. After all that, get the barbecue sorted for peaceful evenings in this serene space: a small shop is on site for supplies, and a much-recommended farm shop/restaurant and a pub are a short drive away.

Liked Beautiful site, well maintained. Lovely owners made us feel very welcome. Shower block and cleaning facilities brilliant. I’ve been to a lot of site but this was the first one to supply washing lines and airer was perfect for us to use as we was in our camper and limited space. Can’t comment on the WiFi as I didn’t use it I have Starlink. Would defo go back.

Liked Very approachable owners, the site was very well kept, shower block clean and tidy, showers had individual temperature and water controls (nice and hot) some sites we have been on leave a lot to be desired but these were brilliant, ideal place to stay if you want to tour around the area,a good farm shop just down the Rd for all provisions and a nice restaurant, all you could ask for,we will be returning in the future.

Paul M. 1 review

Powered grass campsite

Liked The site was beautifully kept. Spacious pitches. Really friendly, helpful owners.

Disliked All through daylight hours a gunshot sound from bird scare machines went off from the farmers field next door. Unfortunately we have two very noise sensitive dogs who were terrified. It was awful for them and so we left the next day to find a different site. It's not the owners fault, they were really trying to help, but we didn't know this was even a thing to consider when booking.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We feel this is a harsh score considering all our efforts to rectify this issue when raised, bearing in mind it is totally out of our control. We do however appreciate the feed back and will add to our details that there can be bird scarers sounding in neighbouring farmers fields during planting. We are so very sorry for what you experienced.

Liked Attractive, well laid out site, with mature hedges offering some privacy. Decent, clean facilities and a very friendly welcome.

Disliked No obvious source of drinking water, other than at the washing up point. The water point near to us said it was only for use in the event of fire.

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review.
We are so sorry that you weren't made aware that all water source on site is drinkable whether it be at each water point, washing up area or amenities block. We are mains water supplied. There is a sign at each water point stating that the water is drinkable, on checking water point near your pitch, above the tap is the drinking water sign, not sure how you missed it! Please, please ask if in any doubt whilst on site.

Local attractions

There's loads of choice for attractions and activities with a stay at this fine and peaceful place, including Trevaskis Farm half a mile away, where you can meet the animals, have a meal at the restaurant or pick up produce at the farm shop. Nearby Paradise Park is a popular family stop around this part of Cornwall: have a morning around the wildlife sanctuary before letting the kids loose in the Jungle Barn play centre. Kids may also like to delve into the many activities of the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, to meet the Vikings, learn how to sail and climb a 100ft tower. Beaches are a must in these parts too: the closest is Gwithian, two and a half miles away, with three miles of golden sand to laze around on, rockpools to thoroughly investigate, and waters popular for surfing. Other options are fab St Michael's Mount with its medieval castle and church, the arty vibe of Tate St Ives, and the giant biomes of the Eden Project, near St Austell.
