'In the countryside, by the sea' is how the Colwill clan describe their site Wooda Farm Holiday Park on the Devon/Cornwall border, which will sound pretty perfect to those who sometimes dither between both as a location for their holiday… Wooda is a park for families and couples, run by the Colwills since 1975, with lush views of the Cornish coastline and the countryside, and loads to do for time spent on site, like pitch and putt, a sports barn with fitness suite and badminton, and activities like archery and tennis in school holidays. Want to take things a tad more easily? Wander and wildlife watch around Wooda Farm's 40 acres of parkland or take a book to the park gardens. The kids will likely want to meet the four pygmy goats, chickens and lambs that live on the farm, and when (if) they finally tire of that, they can roam among the woodland paths and nature trails or hang out in the games and TV room. For the under-fives, bouncing around the toddlers' playroom (with Wendy house, slide, bean bags, ride-on toys and a new soft play area) should be a bit of a hit. The Wooda Farm amenities – three shower and toilet blocks with hairdryers and sockets, disabled facilities, undercover dishwashing sinks, campers' kitchen and a washing point for wetsuits – are excellently maintained, and the park also has a well-stocked licensed shop, a launderette and wifi. Plenty of picks for food are on hand too, with home-cooked meals (and plenty of picks for beer and wine) on hand in The Yard – Coffee, Bar & Kitchen. This is alongside a variety of local pop-up food vans that attend on various evenings and takeaway food in The Lodge. Bringing the pooch? There's even a special shower for mucky pups who've been running around the extensive dog walking area.

Liked Everything, the facilities were the best we’ve ever encountered on a camp site, there were so many food options and everything was delicious! Loved that there were so many different areas to go and sit and relax and the tucked away cocktail bar was a personal highlight for us. The woodland walk was also so much fun, loved the Al Pacas. We have already booked to return next year!

Upper Meadow non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch

Liked The view over looking the sea on one side and the mountains on the other side. Lots of animals including chickens, goats and alpacas at the campsite. The bathrooms are lovely with nice lights and mirrors, with the relaxing music on and they are being clean daily. They provide all the essential facilities we need for our camping trip. Loved the free tractor ride when we arrived on Monday as well.

Disliked Unfortunately, we had storm nights when we were there and it was really windy and loud in the tent throughout the night as the camping field was on top of the mountain.

Liked This is by far the best campsite we’ve stayed in. The grass electric pitches were huge.

We are a family of four, our children loved the play park, evening entertainment, evening pop up take away and we enjoyed the bar, restaurant and coffee during the day. There are ping pong tables and snooker tables, you can hire tennis / badminton rackets for an hour which was fun! The on-site shop is stocked with pretty much everything you need. The reception area is full of local information. The pot wash and launderette was spotlessly clean.

We enjoyed the nature trail and visited the alpacas Boris, Bruce and Bessie. The walks through the woods were lovely with a tree house and bug hotel along the way.

Location wise, Wooda is perfect, takes around 10 mins to drive into Bude. We visited the leisure center and went bowling when the weather was terrible.

We are booked to return next August

Liked Lovely site , new modern shower & toilet blocks always kept very clean .
Baby changing room had a small bath which was amazing for my autistic 5 yr old.
Excellent Tasty food on site from the takeaway lodge and food trucks , they have something different each night although they do get busy. Great new playground for children & ice cream van drives around every night , my son loved it .
Site well kept and very clean . Pitches a very good size , well kept with added picnic benches for you to eat outside your tent .
Would definitely recommend & will hopefully be back soon

Liked Excellent facilities, well maintained, everything is kept very clean and tidy. Pitches are spacious, and generally the campsite is quite of an evening (perfect if you have kids you are trying to get to sleep!).

Beaches are close, great beach side restaurants are available too.
