About 10 minutes’ drive from Arundel and Pulborough, in the tiny hamlet of West Burton, is family-run Cokes Farm. Grass pitches at this site in the southern stretches of the South Downs National Park are rural and peaceful. You’ll be well away from traffic noise and street lights, and in a very good spot for walks and bike rides by day and stargazing by night (the South Downs are recognised as a dark sky park, so the starry displays should be pretty good). Those walks/rides might just take you over to the village, or perhaps up to the top of the Downs for views out towards Brighton and the Isle of Wight. For a closer look at the sea (and maybe a cheeky dip…), you can reach the coast in about 20 minutes by car. The South Downs Way is just over half a mile’s walk away along a bridleway. The facilities on site extend to a small shed with hot-water showers and a flushing toilet. One of the real highlights is the farm shop, which sells eggs, bacon, fruit and veg (along with detergents for the inevitable washing-up). A firepit is provided if you’d like to have a go at barbecue cooking. Anything you can’t buy on site should be available in the shops of the local towns – as well as Pulborough, Arundel, Petworth and Storrington, all within a 15-minute drive. There are plenty of eateries in those towns too, or you could head to the local pub, a 20-minute stroll away.

Liked Fantastic quiet campsite. Beautiful location, no noise from cars.
Great to have games fir the kids (Volleyball net and football net were on the field for us to use) and having a fridge and kettle to use was ideal when staying just the one night. The ability to use the provided firepit was perfect.

Disliked Thankfully met the owner as I drove up, but if he wasn't around I would have been a bit perplexed as how I would let them know I had arrived. The family next to me had that exact issue and asked me what to do.

Liked Lovely quiet location. Clean facilities and lots of games for the kids.

Disliked Only 1 shower and 2 toilets. Probably needs more for busy weekends.
As others reviews have mentioned, no one there to check us in or out. We just pitched up and got on with camping. Not necessarily a problem just a bit different to other sites.

Liked Pitching arrangement, farm shop and the steady pace here is wonderful. Ken a really straightforward and nice chap.

Disliked The facilities are basic but clean and work. They would be the area for next improvement but this isn't a true negative.

Liked We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a lovely location with great views of the hills and our little one enjoyed the open space as well as the chickens and sheep. Clean amenities and it was very useful having a communal fridge. We also loved the farm shop and bought a jar of honey. Would recommend.

Liked Beautiful location,very peaceful. Everything you need- toilets and showers, fridge and kettle. There is has bbq and honesty shop on the site that's a lovely addition. We purchased a delicious home made jam:) We went to a nearby beach onlyb18 minutes away in a car.When I spoke to the owner she was very friendly. Highly recommend 👌

Disliked When we arrived there was none to talk to and we haven't seen anyone until the next day. We just pitched hoping for the best. Would be great to talk to someone in charge on arrival.Or get clearer instructions in booking email. Apart from that we were very happy with our stay and hopefully will be back:)

The villa is open from April to October, during which time it holds Roman-inspired events.
